On the surface, Dell and Sonya Curry’s marriage seemed like a fairytale romance. The couple tied the knot in 1988. Their love story captivated NBA fans. However, behind closed doors, their marriage was facing challenges.

According to reports, it all started with a year of trial separation before they decided to pursue a divorce amicably. After that, revelations of alleged extramarital affairs and sexual misconduct started coming up from both ends. The accusations and counter-allegations turned the situation into a messy and public ordeal.

Sonya initiated the divorce proceedings, citing “marital misconduct”. She accused Dell Curry of being involved with multiple women during their marriage. However, Dell in return accused her of cheating on him. He accused Sonya of engaging in “acts of illicit sexual misconduct” even before their separation. He accused her of cheating him with an ex-NFL player, Steven Johnson. Sonya strongly denied and clarified that her relationship started after their separation.
