This year?s ESPY Awards yet again crowned rookies and veterans for their outstanding performances. Nikola Jokic of Denver Nuggets bagged the Best Player award in the NBA while LeBron James was honored for his record-breaking feat. But where was Stephen Curry amid all this spotlight?

Golden State Warriors’ star point guard won the best player award from the NBA last year. But this year, Curry decided to skip the event and enjoy his time off during the offseason.

Why was Stephen Curry a no-show this year?

Stephen Curry not only won the award for the best player from the NBA last year but he even hosted the event. So where was the former host this time?

Curry decided to kick back and spend his time on the golf course. He uploaded a picture on his official Instagram account in one of the stories of his time spent on the grass.

Curry could be seen standing next to his father Dell Curry, Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez and famous singer and songwriter Jake Owen in the frame. The Chef seemingly had a great time with his folks away from the show.

Stephen Curry was not only the host of last year?s ESPY Awards but also took home the award for the best player, the best breakout performance, and the best team award along with his teammates.

The 2022 year was blessed for Curry. He was the NBA Champion, won the NBA Finals MVP, was an All-Star, made the All-NBA team, was the All-Star MVP, won the Western Conference Finals MVP, and broke the All-Time 3-point made Record.

He broke his own record of 286 threes by draining a massive 402 threes. Curry even won an Oscar, was the BET Sportsman of the Year, the Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year, and at last won the ESPY for Best NBA Player.

So, having such a breakthrough year, it may be fair to say that Curry did not feel the need to attend the event after all.
