Is Giannis Antetokounmpo the smartest player off the court too with his latest business venture?

Giannis Antetokounmpo and his long-time girlfriend Mariah Riddlesprigger finally said “I do” in the breathtaking scenery of Pylos, Greece. And what better to celebrate the occasion than with rosé wine? Yes, there is something better, and that is if the wine is named after you. That feeling solely belonged to Mrs Antetokounmpo as she launched her new product during the lavish wedding.

The secret wedding ceremony had guests including LeBron James, Serena Williams and Jrue Holiday, who got to taste the wine before it hit the market. Giannis did his part to promote it even further as new details emerged after the wedding.

Giannis Antetokounmpo took to social media and shared a picture from Giorgos Panou’s IG story. The picture showed two bottles of Sincerely Mariah,’ the newly launched wine. The preparation was done months prior, when the Bucks star filed a trademark request to the World Industrial Property Organization. The bottles will be in the market in 750ml and 1500ml quantities, packaged by the Boutari Wineries.

Giannis and his brothers founded their business content company, Ante Inc. in 2022 and owned 10% of Hellenic Wineries, the parent company of Boutari Wineries. So safe to say, it’s going to be a family business dedicated to Mariah that will help grow the former NBA MVP’s $140 million net worth. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Mariah have been in a relationship since 2014 and have 3 kids together. First-born son Liam came into their life in February 2020; their second son, Maverick, was born in August 2021; and finally, their daughter Eva, who’ll turn 1 year this month. The 29-year-old already has an enviable business portfolio and the latest wine launch just adds another jewel to that crown.

In 2022, Giannis invested in Antidote Health, a telehealth company dedicated to providing affordable healthcare services. This move resonates deeply with Giannis, who grew up in Greece as an immigrant without access to quality healthcare. “Having access to affordable health care for all – it’s something that growing up we didn’t have,” he said, following the investment. The company aims to use the investment to expand healthcare services in underserved communities.

The next year, Giannis and brothers, Thanasis and Kostas invested in a Canadian-based candy distributor, Candy Funhouse. To mark the sweet beginning, Giannis quipped that he aims to sell candies and wants “to eat more free candy”. The project is overseen by Ante Inc., making it their first venture together since their foundation. The Antetokounmpo brothers also launched their clothing brand, Antetokounbros, at Milwaukee’s Trade Hotel in December last year.

This exciting venture showcases their unique style and flair, offering fans a chance to represent their favorite NBA family. The first outlet was in Athens International Airport, followed by the opening of the first US store in Milwaukee. A second store in Greece, on Ermou Street, was also opened recently. All in all, Ugo is set for a life with “A lot f–ing money” and his best days are still in front of him.
