On the 12th, Overtime Elite posted a video of Mikel Brown Jr., a 2025 draft’s top prospect, converting a thunderous dunk via their Instagram handle. The vicious dunk by the point guard surfaced around the internet to draw in a reaction from prominent figures all around. One of the names turned out to be, LeBron James‘ second eldest son, Bryce James, a budding shooting guard himself.

Bryce reposted the viral clip on his Instagram account with the caption, “OMG.” Highly touted 2026 NBA Draft prospect AJ Dybantsa commented “Oh nah kel.” Even Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell also commented by writing, “Chill,” before tagging Mikel Brown Jr.

Mikel Brown Jr. is an 18-year-old point guard from Orlando who’s currently playing for Cold Hearts in Overtime Elite. Averaging 13.4 points, 5.4 assists, and 2.1 rebounds per game this season, he stands as the second-highest-ranked point guard in the class of 2025. While ESPN rates him a 4-star prospect, backed by his performances, several D1 colleges like Auburn, Arizona State, Ole Miss, UCF and Alabama have stood to offer scholarships. Adding a feather to the hat further, Mikel Brown also recently signed an endorsement deal with German sportswear manufacturer Adidas.

While Mikel Brown Jr. has been in the media spotlight due to his performances, Bryce James has been relatively low-profile for some time. He has, nonetheless, been an active participant in high school basketball scenes.

How has Bryce James performed?

While Bronny has faced increasing scrutiny for his struggles with the USC Trojans, Bryce’s less-than-ideal season with Sierra Canyon has largely gone under the radar. Bryce finished his sophomore season with Sierra Canyon and transferred to Notre Dame to get more game time. But his stint at Notre Dame didn’t go according to plan, as he came back to Sierra Canyon for his junior season.

In his second stint with Sierra Canyon, Bryce James has shared the court with Justin Pippen, the son of NBA legend Scottie Pippen. However, limited game time has meant that Bryce has failed to make a mark in his junior season. Prior to the persisting one, Bryce averaged 3.8 points in 12 varsity games in his sophomore season, also ranking as the No.18 prospect in the state of California. With that, multiple D1 colleges like Duquesne and Ohio State have offered him a scholarship.

As per Adam Finkelstein’s scouting report, Bryce ‘possesses clear shooting potential and has the ability to make both threes and pull-ups, with a left hand advanced for his age.’ Though now far from a finished product, the 16-year-old will look for an improved stance as he stands eligible for the 2026 NBA Draft.
