Can Stephen Curry lead Team USA to their seventeenth gold, or is the competition too fierce?

As the NBA players use the off-season to rest and regain energy for a grueling 2024-25, a group of men are clocking in extra hours for a special event. And amongst them, Stephen Curry stands tall. After a particularly underwhelming last season for the Golden State Warriors, Steph did not stay and dwell on bygones. Of course, it hurt. In more ways than one. But life goes on, whether you want to move forward or not.

For Steph, the decision was simple. The father of three had his fourth child on the way, who, by the way, made an early appearance, or should we say debut. Because baby Chai’s father was getting ready for his own debut, it would seem the little guy didn’t want to miss it!

It also looks like Curry doesn’t want to disappoint any and everyone looking forward to Team USA’s 17th gold in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The first one to report to training camp, the 4x champion, once again proved his dedication and work ethic to his game. Taking to Instagram, ‘Chef Curry’ posted a clip of his practice session with the caption, Ready for Team USA x Paris 2024.

Despite receiving Olympic invitations before, Steph had decided to prioritize health and family at the time. However, he admitted that there was “always this itch to perform in the biggest stages.” Given that the 10x All-Star is potentially reaching the last leg of his NBA career, Curry didn’t want to miss what could potentially be his last shot at the Olympics.

In fact, Steph and his wife, Ayesha Curry, planned their pregnancy by keeping the Olympics in mind. The couple had reached a mutual decision that another child was the right way to go. “For me, the decision came from always finding myself looking around and feeling like somebody was missing. I would load up the car and think, ‘Oh, I forgot something.’ But nobody was forgotten. It started to turn my brain a little bit. Maybe somebody was missing. So we set out on this journey, knowing that this would complete our family,” the millionaire entrepreneur shared in her Sweet July issue announcing their pregnancy.

Anyway, their adorable sixth member made his arrival earlier than expected. Steph was at hand for his wife’s delivery and, after ensuring they were comfortably settled, decided to focus on his Olympics debut. And his fans couldn’t be more excited!

Stephen Curry receives a volley of encouragement from his Instagram family

Excited fans piled up in the comment box with words of encouragement and excitement. This person made things simple with just two words: “can’t wait 🔥🔥.” They clearly echoed the consensus of the community all over the world. Another fan had a similar line of thought, it would seem, as he commented, “Look at curry man, so inspirational.”

No one would contest that. From being overlooked simply because a young Curry didn’t fit the traditional blueprint of how a basketball player should look, to becoming one of the greatest to ever set foot on the court, Steph sure is inspirational. And it does not just stop at the court, either. The 36-year-old’s off-court endeavors are just as much, if not more, impressive and motivational.

Hilariously, though, this next individual decided to call out LeBron James for Steph’s early arrival. “Bron sick he ain’t pull up first.” Not sure what triggered this response, but this guy was not kidding around.

Yet another fan seems to have already decided on the result of the Olympics. “Gold 🥇 hustle.” Needless to say, the United States has seen the most success in Olympic basketball history. Team USA has won 16 out of the 19 tournaments held, with them going on long winning streaks every other instance. The first and the longest streak was from 1936 to ’68. The second time it happened, they had three consecutive wins (1992 to 2000), and finally, since winning the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Team USA has yet to be beaten.

Of course, we don’t have to tell you that all of these were Gold medals. And looking at the 2024 Olympic roster, if there is one team that can get that 17th gold, it would be this group of ‘Avengers’.

Finally, this fan had just a word of caution. “Stay safe. No injuries.” Four words, no doubt, everyone includes in their prayers lately.
