Only Hours away from facing the Bucks, Oklahoma City Thunder‘s GM Sam Presti pulled a massive move. With the NBA season starting in under two weeks, teams are still making transactions to solidify their rosters. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski announced a trade between the Houston Rockets and the Oklahoma City Thunder. This move comes as a last-ditch effort to bolster their line-up before the regular season.

However, OKC traded one of their future first-round picks in order for the trade. The team has accumulated a wealth of future first-round picks. Here’s a look at the future draft stash of the team which has fans hoping for a dynasty.

OKC’s “ULTIMATE Dynasty” Draft Stash

The Oklahoma City Thunder have amassed an impressive arsenal of 35 draft picks over the next seven years, including 15 in the first round. Notable among these are an unprotected 2024 first-round pick from the Clippers, a top-four protected 2024 first-rounder from the Rockets, and a top-10 protected 2024 first-round pick from the Jazz.

 

In a recent tweet by NBA Central, they analyzed the franchise’s draft stash for the next 7 years. Although they missed the playoffs for the third consecutive season in 2022-23, the Thunder have been busy picking up talent like Chet Holmgren, the 2022 No. 2 overall pick. While they may not use all these draft assets, they provide a foundation for building a competitive team in the future, signaling the Thunder’s quest to return to their former glory.
