ESPN recently gave out the ESPYs, and four-time NBA champion LeBron James was one of the favorites to take home an award. As everyone expected, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar won the ESPY for the Best Record-Breaking Performance after he broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record. Savannah James gave away the award to her husband, which was greeted with huge applause.

However, this wasn’t the highlight of the night. The 38-year-old gave a major hint on his retirement and popular NBA analyst Dan Patrick had some things to say.?

NBA analyst bashes LeBron James’ ‘needs’

James has spent 20-years in the league and has achieved whatever there is to win individually. While he is still at his physical peak and looks like he will play for a few more seasons, James dropped a bombshell after losing in the Western Conference Finals against the Denver Nuggets.

The four-time NBA MVP hinted at potentially ending his long career. At the recent ESPYs, James clarified on his comments made a month ago.?

This didn’t really please Dan Patrick. On his popular YouTube podcast, the veteran media analyst bashed his comments and questioned his need for attention.

“When I heard it, I go, ‘Oh LeBron, don’t, don’t, don’t. You don’t need this attention,'” said Dan Patrick. He then joked about how the ESPYs should have named the award a?’LeBron James breaking Kareem’s records’ award.

He further added, “This goes back to when I was at the mothership and they came up with the ESPYs and it felt like, if you showed up, you got an ESPY. They would create a category there. but LeBron’s family was up there to introduce him and award him.”

When the other panelist asserted that this award has been in place since 2001 and even Stephen Curry has won it, Patrick brought forth an important question. “What if LeBron didn’t show up last night?”?said Patrick. However, his question was met with silence.

The NBA superstar’s recent comments might put a smile on the Los Angeles Lakers fanbase. ?The real question for me is: Can I play without cheating this game? The day I can?t give everything on the floor is the day I?ll be done,” said James.

To end his epic speech, the NBA legend said, ?Lucky for you guys, that day is not today.? He seemingly confirmed his participation next season with the Lakers. Having averaged 28.9 points, 6.8 assists and 8.3 rebounds last season, King James is far from over.
