After a shaky start, the Denver Nuggets have swung right back in the league with a 4-game winning streak. Most importantly, it was laced with Mr. Triple Double’s comeback performance. Moreover, Jamal Murray has also joined the force, so we are looking at a lethal lineup for tonight’s game. On the other hand, the Dallas Mavericks, another dominant side, this time with a Klay Thompson punch, has a promising shot at the ring. However, the games aren’t going the Texas side’s way because of injuries.
A week ago, the Nuggets looked all over the place, struggling to get back to their dominant best. Nikola Jokić‘s triple-double after triple-double wasn’t helping the side with no one to support. The team really missed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope’s presence on the side. Just when everyone thought that the Mile-High team would sink without any help, Murray’s concussion injury came in as a massive boost.
It promoted Russell Westbrook to the starting lineup, and he took the NBA world back to his MVP era, dropping two 20+ points games, ultimately putting the team back to winning ways. Now that Jamal Murray is back from the concussion break, the team is back in its best form. Nevertheless, Aaron Gordon has yet to make a return, as he’s recovering from a right calf strain from Monday’s 121-119 win.

On the other hand, the Mavericks which suffered a one-point loss against the Suns will again play with a shorthanded side. While Dereck Lively II (shoulder) and PJ Washington (knee) are yet to get back on the lineup, the team has included Luka Doncic under the Questionable category, citing a left groin strain. The Mavs’ coach Jason Kidd fumed over the team’s recent loss after the game. Looking at the team’s state, they might head towards another frustrating loss. Both teams have faced depth challenges due to the injuries, and so have their lineups.
Mavericks vs Nuggets: Starting lineup and depth chart
In the previous game, the Mavericks went off to a slow start and also had serious issues with securing the ball, as they gave away turnovers after turnovers. However, Luka and Kyrie Irving, as usual, steadied the ship in the second half. The concern that remained was that the team lacked support from the bench which only contributed 7 points. It was unavoidable, as two key players were out on injury. Now that Luka Magic is also out, let’s find out what the adjusted starting lineup looks like.

With the absence of Aaron Gordon, the Nuggets might struggle a bit doing the clean-up job and rebounding. However, Peyton Watson has earned himself some reputation with his latest game-winning block over Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. So, we could expect the Mile-High City to dominate the Mavericks tonight.
