The defending champions, Denver Nuggets, have kept their last year’s form. Winning five out of the six games played, they are currently in the second position in the Western Conference tables. Last night they faced the Dallas Mavericks in one of the most anticipated matches of this season. The face-off between Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic was a major point of discussion among fans. The platform was the newly formed NBA in-season tournament, though.
The Mavericks, however, lost the match to the Nuggets, in their first game of the tournament. Despite Doncic trying his best to sail the Mavs, it was ‘The Joker’ show that stole the match. The Nuggets face the Chicago Bulls tonight, their consecutive night in action. Will the Denver Nuggets rest the best player in the world for the Bulls match, after an exhausting Mavs spell?

There are no updates from the Denver Nuggets official website regarding the injury report. Hence, it can be considered that Jokic will play tonight against the Bulls. In a recent post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Nuggets mentioned the special feat that Jokic recently reached.

The Nuggets captioned the post “Keep ?em coming”. The Joker completed 4,005 career assists, becoming the sixth NBA center to record 4000+ assists; a massive feat for the 28-year-old Serbian. The five-time All-Star is already among the greats with his records. He is widely considered one of the best centers in NBA history.
Achieving such a feat is sure to boost his confidence. Let us see how he translates this confidence into his performance against the Bulls tonight. The Bulls, on the other hand, also played an NBA in-season match last night against the Brooklyn Nets, losing by a marginal 107-109. DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine put up a good display though.

The Nuggets’ dominance
When asked in an interview at the season beginning about their next step, he answered, “Just to win as many games as possible and try to have fun during that period.” He further added, “Go get the opportunity to win another one. Probably that’s going to be the next step for us. Like Jamal said, like why not win again?”
Jokic ended his last year’s stint with the NBA Finals MVP award, averaging 30.0 points, 13.5 rebounds and 9.5 assists as the Nuggets beat the Miami Heat 4-1 in the Finals to win their maiden championship. Can the Nuggets defend their title? With the form they are currently in, very much possible.
