As we near the postseason, almost every single game impacts the standings. Take tonight’s game. The Nuggets are in the race for the second spot and the Kings are fighting for the sixth seed. It’s a must-win game for both teams. Importantly, the Sacramento side has turned it around recently with a 4-game winning streak and they are poised to take the fifth. Meanwhile, the Mile-High City is struggling, losing 3 of their last 5 games. The important question is, do they have enough firepower to take down the Kings tonight?

Unfortunately, it’s doubtful, as they have a horde of players on the injury report. Above all, the team’s driving force, Nikola Jokić, may not take part in the action. The team has listed the Serbian big man in the Questionable category, citing an ankle injury. Moreover, the Nuggets’ record without him doesn’t seem promising. This season, The Joker has missed six games, out of which they have managed to win only two.

So, it’s a real test on Jamal Murray and Russell Westbrook to shoulder the team tonight to keep them floating in the top-4. Apart from Nikola Jokić, there are several players, including Aaron Gordon, who may not make it to the team, leaving the team with a thin bench.

Julian Strawther, who had an impactful run off the bench, will be out for at least a month after sustaining a knee injury on the Monday afternoon game. Here are other injured players:

At the same time, the Sacramento Kings also have a huge setback heading into tonight’s game. The team has listed out big man Domantas Sabonis with a hamstring strain along with Malik Monk in the questionable category with a toe sprain. So, the Nuggets might have a fair chance, as the Kings also have two of their prominent players in rotation. Let’s look at the starting lineup and depth chart for a clear picture.

Russell Westbrook, who took a trip to multiple franchises in the last few seasons, finally found a great fit for him. Mr. Triple Double is ultimately suited to the playing style of Jokic. Furthermore, with the team needing his MVP presence tonight, Russ has to dial back the clock. Above all, Jamal Murray, who found his rhythm in the last few games, should take over the team’s offense and cover up Jokic’s absence.

On the other hand, the Kings have a simple task. The teammates should just pass the ball to their star players, LaVine and DeRozan. So far, the combination has worked well and they will look to continue it. What do you think? Who will win this challenge tonight? Let us know in the comments.
