The Denver Nuggets are in action against the Dallas Mavericks for the second straight game at the American Airlines Center. On Tuesday night, the Nuggets ran away with the game in the fourth quarter to get the better of Dallas in a 112-101 affair. While Dallas will look to get on level terms with Denver, the Nuggets will be looking to make a statement with back-to-back wins on the road.
Furthermore, Russell Westbrook led the scoring for Denver scoring 21 points. Whereas, Nikola Jokic had a solid outing as well scoring 19 points, grabbing 18 rebounds, and dishing out nine assists. With that being said, will the Joker be available for tonight’s clash? Well, as of now he is listed as questionable.
After an impressive performance last night, Jokic is on a day-to-day due to an illness. It will be a game-day decision for the Nuggets, who would look to keep him in the best shape possible and not risk any major injuries. So far this season, he’s been as impressive as ever averaging 31.2 points, 13.2 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game. So, no doubt his absence will be a huge blow for Denver.

On the other hand, the Mavericks might be getting some much-needed reinforcements with superstar Kyrie Irving’s status being upgraded to questionable. Nonetheless, the first game delivered on its promise, and the second one looks to be a close one as well. So, let’s take a look at the Nuggets injury report prior to the tip-off.
Denver Nuggets injury report for round two in Dallas
Apart from superstar Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets could be without several of their key players for this one. Forward Aaron Gordon, who just made a return after missing nine straight games is also probable for tonight’s game. He could miss the game due to a calf issue due to which he had been out previously. Point guard Jamal Murray is also questionable for this matchup.
He could be absent due to a left knee inflammation. He did play a part in last night’s win scoring 17 points, two rebounds, and two assists in 32 minutes. Julian Strawther is also listed as questionable due to a right knee strain. At the same time, Vlatko Cancar remains sidelined due to a knee injury following his surgery. Lastly, DaRon Holmes II is also out of contention for this matchup.

The Nuggets’ predicted starting five for tonight
Michael Malone and his men will be looking to make it two wins out of two tonight. But, for that availability of Nikola Jokic will be key. On the other hand, if Aaron Gordon isn’t cleared to play Russell Westbrook might get into the starting lineup, given his recent strong performances. Here’s how the Nuggets could start tonight:

Positions | Starters |
PG | Jamal Murray (probable) |
SG | Christian Braun |
SF | Michael Porter Jr. |
PF | Aaron Gordon (probable) |
C | Nikola Jokic (probable) |
With all that being said, it’s a tough one to pick a clear favorite out of the two heavyweights. It could all come down to either Jokic or Irving’s availability. The Nuggets put on a good show last night and that’s partially due to the fact that the Mavericks were short-handed. Nonetheless, it will be a close game and a great watch!
