Over the last few seasons, Trae Young’s “villain” persona has taken the spotlight. With big game performances against both the New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics in playoff games, it seems like fans just love to hate Ice Trae.?
His comparison to Luka Doncic, like any other debate, occupies the center stage while being compared as a trade swap with the new face of the Atlanta Hawks. With the comparison being the only consistent thing in his career, does he get affected by it?

In a post-practice interview, when asked about how he feels about the constant comparison with other teams, even when performing at par, Trae Young seemed calm and composed.
Young said: ?Thankfully, I have a great circle around me, that keeps me focused, keeps my head right. But, for me, no, I don?t let that bother, me cause I know once I win. When it all, all that stuff is not gonna be shown, it?s all gonna be talked about.? He continued: ?So maybe if I win the championship, then people will bring all that stuff, but I don?t worry about that now.?

It was easy to point out the comparison made between the two rookie draft picks of the 2018 season, with Doncic performing slightly better than the PG of the Hawks. Well, the reality is that the comparison is about to stick. It?s the sixth year with the approaching regular season, and the Dallas Mavericks vs. Hawks debate seems to have nowhere to end!

Doncic registered an average of 27.6 points on 46.6 percent shooting overall and made a jump to score a career-high of 32.4 points in the 2022?23 season. Young registered 19.1 points on average, with 42.9% shooting overall, Although Doncic leads the Hawks? PG in points, Trae holds an edge in terms of passing ability.
With almost the same accolades up the wall, both players stand on par in this department. However, the race to win the MVP seems obvious. While keeping that in mind, Young seems not to differentiate between a preseason game and a regular one.
