Something’s not clicking in Minnesota! After their historic run to the West Finals last year, everyone expected the Wolves to take an even bigger leap this season. However, they have failed to live up to the hype and currently rank eighth in the conference. Adding insult to injury, a returning Karl-Anthony Towns blew them out in their own building last night. Sure enough, the humiliating loss led to frustration for Anthony Edwards, and he threw his teammates under the bus in a brutal confession.

“Yeah, we don’t have s—. We don’t have no identity. We know I’m gonna shoot a bunch of shots, we know Ju (Julius Randle) gonna shoot a bunch of shots and that’s all we know,” said Ant-Man, addressing the team’s lack of go-to offensive tactics. He continued, “We don’t really know anything else.”

Well, that’s exactly what happened last night while Edwards was having a tough time getting the ball in the basket and finished with only 17 points. The Wolves had no other offensive threat available to save the day. When asked what he wants to see on the offensive side as a leader, Edwards chose to remain tight-lipped, “They not gonna like what I say. So, I’m just gonna keep my answer to myself.”

Although his frustration is justified after the 26-point blowout loss, even he did not do a great job of helping his team overcome the Knicks’ challenge. And head coach Chris Finch urged Ant to step up his game, “I think they are certainly loading up to him. Maybe he can be a little bit more aggressive.”

Yes, Finch highlighted the strategy of Edwards going downhill “didn’t really work very well.” However, he claimed he was “not overly concerned” about the youngster’s performance.

Anthony Edwards takes accountability for Wolves’ Struggles!

Having spent five years in the league, Edwards has solidified himself as a high flyer. And going downhill for an easy bucket has become one of his major strengths. However, teams have found a way to stop Ant-Man from utilizing that ability by clogging the lane, like the Knicks did last night.

Moreover, Edwards knows it, “If you watch the game, it’s nothing for me to do when I get downhill. Everybody wants me to get downhill. I know that’s my strength. I get to the rim, lay the ball up, dunk the ball. But I can’t do that if there’s no lanes, if it’s not open.”

What’s your perspective on:

Is Anthony Edwards right to call out his teammates, or should he focus on his own game?

Obviously, for the driving lanes to be open, the Wolves would need solid shooters on the perimeter to create a threat so that the defense remains more spread out. But no one has stepped up to take that responsibility, leaving Edwards helpless.

And the star guard took accountability for the team’s lackluster offense, “I mean it’s not on the coaches at all, it’s on us. We out there playing. We gotta make it easier for each other.”

Yes, the Wolves pride themselves on their defense, but they also need good offense to win games. Chris Finch and his staff need to figure things out quickly before Anthony Edwards and Co. dig themselves a hole they cannot get out of. Maybe Ant’s brutal confession will spark that fire, which will help them turn the season around.
