The Philadelphia 76ers are in complete turmoil. The team’s downfall is more chaotic than anyone could have predicted. Is the front office and coaching staff to blame? Or is it veteran stars like Joel Embiid who are failing to step up? The situation is dire—Philly might not even make it to the Eastern Conference showdowns. Injuries are sidelining stars like Paul George, while young players like Tyrese Maxey are carrying the load. Thus, former NBA player Greg Anthony believes this shouldn’t be happening.

The ex-Milwaukee Bucks player, Greg Anthony discussed the pressing matter of the league with Stephen A. Smith. Both the analysts didn’t hold back while talking about the 76ers’ stars. Anthony sharply commented: “He [Tyrese Maxey] shouldn’t be the leader. And if what we’re hearing is true, then that also means that Embiid hasn’t been a pro. Because there’s just no excuse for you being late to everything and not feeling like you completely invested.”

Well, a veteran like The Process is simply turning into a ‘joke’ for the critics. He is repeatedly missing games for some reason or the other. Meanwhile, youngsters like Maxey and Jared McCain. are trying to run the show. Meanwhile, Joel Embiid isn’t the only one who’s adding to the former hooper worries. Because Paul George is just doubling the miseries with his deteriorating health and performance.

Greg Anthony expressed, “Paul George doesn’t look right, man. These two injuries he’s had, it looks like his body is starting to fail him.” PG’s left knee hyperextension has been a recurring problem for him and the woes aren’t leaving him anytime soon. “It’s the reason why the Clippers didn’t want to give him those extra years. And Philly ran out there and did it. And I just don’t know if we’re going to see Paul get back to that level,” Greg added.

Simply put, the Philadelphia 76ers, Joel Embiid, and Paul George are in muddy waters now. To be honest, the organization bears much of the blame for failing to make decisions in the past months.

Greg Anthony bashed Joel Embiid’s higher-ups for the terrible situation they’re in

Philly fans have been demanding two things since the entire debacle came before their eyes. First, “Joel Embiid should retire.” Second, “Fire Nick Nurse.” At this point, both demands seem too good to be true. Coming back to the fact that Tyrese Maxey is leading the show for the Sixers, Greg Anthony doesn’t like the idea. Simply put, the veterans of the sport should take the scepter, allowing the youngsters to play more. However, the 76ers franchise should also be blamed for the team’s downfall.

“I put this on the organization, because if you’ve allowed this stuff to manifest, then that’s on you,” Greg Anthony boldly declared. “Shame on you that you have allowed this to happen because that’s the one thing I learned playing with some truly great players. Like, generally, your best players are your hardest workers.” These statements also align with Tyrese’s latest viral outburst on Joel Embiid’s impunctuality in team activities.

Greg notes that the best players like Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are probably the most hard-working stars of the Celtics. So is Steph Curry and SGA for the Warriors and OKC Thunders. This shows their dedication to the team and the sport that has given them their identities. “That’s really the formula for success if you want to have a championship-level team. For your great players set the tone by leading by example. You don’t have to have a big voice, but you lead by example.”

The 76ers are in chaos, with Tyrese Maxey trying to hold things together while Embiid and George continue to struggle. Greg Anthony has harshly criticized the organization for failing to act sooner. Championship teams thrive when their stars lead by example, but Philly is falling short of that standard. The frustration is palpable, and the future feels uncertain for the team.
