19 Years After Big Sacrifice for LeBron James’ Kids, Savannah James Finally Sheds “Helicopter Mom” Persona to Follow Passions

The path to glory requires sacrifice from not only the chasers but also their close ones. Savannah James came across as a living example of that as she had to make big sacrifices for the family of LeBron James. The spouse of the NBA superstar recently opened up about that alongside sharing the next chapter of her life.

She candidly shared her thoughts on how she shed her ‘helicopter mom’ personality to rearrange priorities. It gave us insights into the constant flow of unstoppable changes in human lives.

What did Savannah James say?

In a recent interview with the ESSENCE, the 37-year-old mentioned how her priorities changed over time. When she became a mother at the age of just 18, she felt like “that was what I wanted to do”. “I wanted to be a mom and I wanted to sit back,” Mrs. James highlighted, to talk about her life goals back then.

19 years since then, a lot has changed as she “set that ground and foundation” to raise three “quality human beings”. Thus, the partner of the Los Angeles Lakers talisman had rearranged her life choices after nearly two decades. Savannah no longer feels like “a helicopter mom per se” as the kids understand “what is expected of them”.

“I’m able to go out and just act on my passions,” she mentioned while putting the spotlight on her journey ahead. After fulfilling her duties as a guardian, the woman of the James household wanted to chase her personal dreams. “I feel comfortable with seeing where my passions are able to take me,” she stated to reflect that.

Her confidence emerged from knowing that “the groundwork” for parenting “has been laid”. “I feel good about the position that I’ve left them in,” she highlighted as she moved forward toward her chapter.

The constant support of LeBron James

Since meeting each other in high school back in 2002, the duo has been together through thick and thin. As a 16-year-old sophomore, Savannah trusted the qualities of LeBron as the latter conquered the world soon after. Their bond has stood the test of time on numerous occasions, serving as a benchmark for others.

She has stayed by the 4-time champion’s side during his moments of hardship. So, now it’s possibly the moment for the relationship to be the other way around. With their relationship still going strong, the King is bound to extend his helping hand to his Queen.
