Ever since the Jimmy Butler trade, the Warriors seem to have a newfound energy. And that has shown in their performance as they won their first two games with Jimmy in the lineup. But their momentum took a massive halt last night when they suffered a brutal loss against the Mavs. Sure enough, it sparked frustration in the Warriors’ camp. This turn of events even leads to Steve Kerr accusing Adam Silver’s league of putting the players’ health in jeopardy for financial gain.
Yes, the loss stung Kerr even more because he was unsure if the team’s veteran stars could keep up with the NBA’s hectic schedule and suit up again tonight for the Rockets clash. “I don’t know. We’ll talk to Rick. After the tough back-to-back, that’s why it makes this loss even more frustrating,” he admitted. All superstars, including Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler logged in heavy 30+ minutes last night, leading to potential fatigue.
Unfortunately, the Bay Area team had no time to rest after the nail-biter in Dallas, as they had to hop on a late-night flight to Houston for the next game. And Kerr called out the NBA for the disappointing schedule management.

He said, “We get to Houston at 3 o’clock you know whatever it is because the NBA in its infinite wisdom makes us play an 8:45 game. Then they clearly don’t care about rest or player health. It’s just ratings and all that stuff.”
Steve Kerr said he doesn’t know if Steph Curry (37 minutes) and the other veterans will go in Houston tomorrow night: “That’s what makes this loss more frustrating. Obviously, the aging roster has been a major Achilles Heel for Kerr this season. Steph and Draymond have played through multiple lingering injuries. New acquision Butler is entering the twilight of his career as well at 35-years-old. As great as they are, these superstars need ample rest before each game to stay healthy for the entire season. The travel included back-to-back schedules like tonight making it extremely difficult to keep up. However, Kerr understands that they are not the only team dealing with this issue. “I get it. Everyone’s gotta do it. The whole league’s gotta do it, so it is what it is. We’re gonna strap it up and get ready for tomorrow.” But after the emotional night in Dallas, Kerr and his crew could have used some rest. Frustrations boiled over with the Warriors HC even having a heated argument with the referee.

Well, the Warriors knew that they were entering a potentially hostile environment in Dallas following the Luka Doncic trade. But they still fancied their chances of winning as the Mavs were playing without Anthony Davis and multiple other injured stars. However, Kyrie Irving turned into their worst nightmare and dropped 42 points to single-handedly lead his team to victory.

Obviously, Kerr was not pleased, especially with how the game was being officiated, and even snapped at referee James Williams in the middle of the court. During a timeout, the nine-time champ was reportedly complaining about a no-call on Butler.
But the situation escalated and Kerr began yelling at the official. He even charged at him before his staff and Draymond Green held him back. Unfortunately, the damage was already done and Kerr received a technical foul for his outburst. Maybe that played a part in the Warriors eventually losing by four points.

Because of the back-to-back schedule, Kerr’s problems could grow even more tonight as he might have to face the Rockets without his veteran stars. That is unfortunate news as the Warriors continue to struggle in their pursuit of making the playoffs. What are your thoughts?
