The Denver Nuggets superstar made it clear during his appearance on the Curious Mike Podcast that he does not want a life of fame after basketball. Jokic revealed that he wants to spend time with his family and enjoy racing horses when he retires from the NBA. It has been a running joke in the NBA World that The Joker treats his NBA career like a second job. Jokic’s comments have doubled down on that narrative.

Almost a week after Jokic’s remarks, Philadelphia 76ers guard Patrick Beverley called out the 2-time MVP to give him a reality check.

NBA veteran Patrick Beverley addressed Nikola Jokić’s comments during The Pat Bev Podcast. “While you are in the NBA, you gonna be famous as f*ck,” Beverley said. According to the Sixers guard, being famous is a part of the job for an NBA player. And the level of fame is even higher for Jokic because he has won a Championship and a Finals MVP. Nikola Jokic is one of the most influential players of this generation. He has revolutionized the Center position with his unique skill set.

So, there will be a lot of eyes on the Nuggets superstar even after he retires from the NBA. In today’s social media era, nothing is hidden from the world. And it is very hard for celebrities to live a private life. Beverley pointed out the fact that there are even videos of how a player warms up. Therefore, there is a high chance that fame is not going to leave Jokic anytime soon.

How Patrick Beverley deals with being famous?
