The Denver Nuggets recently faced off against the Minnesota Timberwolves on their home turf. With both teams currently occupying the top spots on the points table, anticipation was high to witness who would reign supreme. The team’s second-highest average scorer, Jamal Murray, had to miss his fourth consecutive game after suffering an injury on his right knee. Therefore, the extra responsibility of carrying his offensive part fell onto lead scorer Nikola Jokic. However, the Serbian player seemed to be having his own share of troubles during the matchup.

In the aftermath of the game, sports reporter Katy Winge took to her official X account to share an update regarding Jokic. She stated that “Nikola Jokić was getting his wrist looked at periodically during this game. Coach Malone said postgame he was surprised Jokić played tonight because of it. Said the wrist is giving him a lot of trouble.”

Even if Jokic was having trouble with his wrist, the same did not seem to reflect on his scoring ability. During his 37 minutes on the court, the player managed to drop 32 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists. This score proved better than his last four games. Despite the same, however, Jokic’s efforts were not enough to put his team over the top this time. The effect of Jamal Murray getting sidelined due to his sprained ankle was probably reflected on the Nuggets as a whole, as they ended up losing their second consecutive game and have now dropped to the 3 seed on the Western Conference points chart.

After the Nuggets completed their 8 game, the player started appearing on the Injury Report. Despite this, he has managed to appear in 71 out of the 74 games played by his team this season. Given that the injury has not improved till now, fans wonder whether the player will be able to go on during the final games of the regular season. Jokic himself provided his thoughts on the same.

After the conclusion of the game, the Serbian player addressed his wrist issues by reportedly stating “I’m used to the pain. The Nuggets have only 8 more games remaining in the regular season. While their chances of making it to the playoffs seem pretty high, it won’t mean much if Jokic, along with Murray, gets sidelined due to his deteriorating condition; obliging the two and the team to tread careful.
