The world of sneakers and the NBA has been synonymous for decades. Shoes make for the most important equipment that is needed to play the physically exhausting sport. Over the last few decades, the shoes have gone from being just equipment to a style statement. This is the reason every other athlete is looking for their own shoe deal with a renowned brand.

While not all get an opportunity to boast about their line of sneakers, this year Nike has blessed 13 NBA rookies with an opportunity. The footwear giant has maintained a stronghold in the NBA market, ever since they brought in a rookie Michael Jordan. Post that, the company has gone from being just another footwear brand to being the most desired for athletes and fans alike.

Victor Wembanyama and 12 other rookies win big with Nike

This year?s NBA draft has brought in some of the finest talents we have seen in recent times. One in particular has made the most noise, Victor Wembanyama. The French nation has had a buzz which was previously when the NBA welcomed LeBron James. We all know how that story unfolded in front of our eyes. King James is in the league 20 years strong and is still going toe to toe with the best.

While the expectations around Wemby have skyrocketed, the 19-year-old is also inking lucrative deals outside the court. Recently, the Spurs rookie signed a shoe deal with Nike along with 12 other rookies.

This deal is going to have a huge impact, not just on these rookies but also on the market. Bringing in 13 rookies simultaneously, Nike has blown Adidas and Puma out of the water. With time, we will get to see what strategy they adhere to in order to cope with this move.

However, for now, 13 rookies in the NBA can boast a Nike shoe deal. As per Nick DePaula of Nice Kicks, Nike has offered shoe deals to 13 rookies this year. The list includes the wonderboy Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs.

Other than Wemby, Brandon Miller, Amen Thompson, Ausar Thompson, Anthony Black, and Kobe brown have also received their respective deals.

The Thompson twins are living their dream

DePaula provided an interesting yet motivational trivia after this deal went official. He posted an image of the 11-year-old dream of the Thompson twins. At the age of 9, when Amen and Ausar were dreaming of making it into the NBA, they had one more dream running along. Their dream list included ?Get A Shoe Company?.

At just the age of 20, the twins have already banked their first major shoe deal with the biggest shark in the water. Moving ahead from here, the sky is the limit for these youngsters.
