Something feels off in Dallas. Was the chaos always there, just hidden in plain sight? Or did the cracks only start to show once Luka Doncic left? Suddenly, GM Nico Harrison‘s secret moves are spilling into the open. One by one, his quiet decisions are fueling the storm. Fans are livid, flooding the streets, furious over losing their star to the Lakers. But just as the dust starts to settle, another unexpected goodbye shakes the franchise again.

Luka Doncic isn’t the only one walking away from Dallas. NBA insider Marc Stein dropped another bombshell—Marko Milic is out. He didn’t just leave. He refused Nico Harrison to stay without Doncic on the team. The first Slovenian to play in the NBA, Milic was more than just a coach. But now, his time with the Mavericks is officially over.

Before joining the Mavericks in 2022, Milic spent seven years shaping Slovenia’s basketball future. But his journey goes way deeper. Across 21 seasons, from 1994 to 2015, he played the game in seven countries—Slovenia, Turkey, Spain, Italy, France, Iran, and Kuwait. But now, he’s out too.

It looks like the Dallas Mavericks have lost the ability to hold on to any staff who was remotely or closely associated with Luka. Harrison and Co. removed Anze Macek whom Luka Doncic hired last season as his personal strength coach. And, then, Javier Barrio Calvo, the therapist. The Mavericks reportedly removed Doncic’s performance coach, Mike Robertson, from the coaching staff. And well, all of this only screams one belief: there was a hidden agenda of some sort. But what?

Nico Harrison’s unknown plans allegedly out before the public

It looks like someone has deciphered the hidden implications behind Nico Harrison’s vision for the future. Yes, surely he got rid of Luka Doncic because of his so-called 270 pounds and poor conditioning. But well, in all fair honesty does that even make any sense? Now, coming back to the ‘secret agenda’, X handle @StoneDog146 has a theory. He believes that Marko Milic’s exit from the coaching staff should not be a surprise to anyone at this point.

Did Nico Harrison's secret agenda cost the Mavericks their future with Luka Doncic and Marko Milic?

Have an interesting take?

This reveals who the real “non-yes men” are—the ones Nico has been quietly pushing out. But it sparks an even bigger question. If conditioning isn’t the issue (Luka looks just fine in LA), then the whole “greats with singular focus” argument given by Patrick Dumont falls apart. So what was the real problem? Is Nico channeling his inner Jerry Jones, ditching a 25-year-old generational talent just to prove he can win without him?

Meanwhile, someone mentioned that Luka was reportedly “drinking too much” and that it was the crux of the problem. But of course, no one will buy into this rumor. Thus the sleuth of the internet asked the fan to do some research on players like the Boston Red Sox superstar Wade Boggs. Next time Luka’s alleged “drinking problem” comes up as the reason Nico Harrison struck a deal with Rob Pelinka, everyone should brace for the inevitable debate—five-time All-Star, league scoring leader, and all the stats to back it up.

Simply put, most of the fans and also some experts of the game are sensing some sort of odd and hidden foul play that got Luka out of the only place he knew as home. With Marko Milic’s sudden departure, the eyes of suspicion keep staring piercingly. And thus, the GM continues to be in hot water as fans just can’t make peace with the turn of events on February 2.
