Are Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp going to be traded? The latest rumor has engulfed the ongoing NFL season. With the trade deadline for the Rams being just 2 weeks away, the 36-year-old QB is now being connected as a possible acquisition for the Vikings. Meanwhile, Kupp is touted as the extra sprinkling to make the deal sweeter. The two stars, however, are not letting the news get to them, and are delivering performances in a manner that is winning them praise all the way from the hoop!
LeBron James, who we all are aware of being a big football enthusiast, once again had his eyes peered at the recent matchup between the Rams and, ironically, the Vikings! During the 30-20 win against the Minnesota side (Marshall Ericksen would be disappointed), Stafford delivered his first 4-touchdown game since Week 12 of the previous season, also being only his second in the past 3 seasons.
Kupp, meanwhile, recorded 1 touchdown and ran 55 yards. Both these performances earned the praise of the Lakers legend, who sent out his flowers just as the game was beginning, stating, “Good to see my boy Puka back out there tonight. Cooper too!”.

Things had not been looking too good for the two Rams players over the last couple of weeks. Along with Puka Nacua and Jordan Whittington, Cooper Kupp also developed an injury. His ankle ailment kept him off the playing field for 4 games. This makes another addition to the streak of the athlete getting injured at least once every year for the last three seasons. According to a report by Pro Football, Kupp has a skill set that ages well. However, at just 31, he has been reflecting signs of his fitness breaking down.
Thanks to the stats that the Rams star has been delivering for over the last 7 years, the athlete today boasts a base salary of $15 million and a salary cap charge of $29.7 million. This means that acquiring him isn’t going to be easy for any franchise, even the Vikings.

Could trading Stafford and Kupp be the Rams' biggest blunder in recent NFL history?
Have an interesting take?
Matthew Stafford is a legend in the Rams’ circle. After all, he led the team to victory during the Super Bowl LVI against the Bengals, which also happened to be his debut season with the LA team! However, since then, there has been a drop in his performance.
His CMP (Passes Completed) has been half of what he made during the championship season or less, while his touchdowns have also met the same fate. While he has suffered with the Rams, former quarterback Chase Daniel indicated that things would be different with the Vikings. This caused him to recently state, “I don’t believe this for one second…. but Vikes would win it all with Stafford.”
LeBron James’ enthusiasm for the NFL and being an LA Lakers player would see him having a special place in his heart for the Rams. Therefore, likely wanting the best for the LA side, the 39-year-old would not be that enthusiastic to see Matthew Stafford go. After all, if history has taught us anything, this is not the first time that LeBron has acknowledged his liking for the Quarterback.

LeBron James once credited his jaw-dropping 56-point night to Matthew Stafford!
2022 was the year when Matthew Stafford brought home the Super Bowl trophy for LA residents. Within the span of a season, the quarterback’s fame grew. Not only the natives of the city, but renowned celebrities were sending their flowers to Stafford. Therefore, when the NFL player arrived with his wife Kelly to view a hoops game, LeBron took this as his opportunity to build a good rapport.
The NBA game that Matthew Stafford arrived for was anyway set to be an exciting one. After all, the Lakers were facing off against one of their biggest rivals: the Warriors. What made it memorable, however, was that LeBron James ended up scoring a whopping 56 points, while going 19-31 with his field goals, and 6-11 with his three-pointers. Additionally, he also made 12-13 free throws.

The score allowed LeBron James to tie his own third-highest scoring stat and coincidentally aligned with Super Bowl LVI, the title that Stafford had won. As a result, when the Lakers and the NFL stars got the chance to finally share a greeting, LeBron stated, “I can’t have you in the building and not put on a show.”
November 5 is the trade deadline for the Los Angeles Rams. For other Americans, it will be the day when they get to find out who will be the next President, but for NFL fans, the day coming, and quietly passing without any change would ensure that Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp are here to stay for the time being.
