Despite having an underwhelming season, Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young seems to be in a great mood to appreciate young talent. After witnessing an impressive Saturday night contest between the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts, Young took to his X handle to appreciate a 22-year-old rookie.

It was none other than the Texans’ beloved rookie C. J. Stroud. He has had an impressive debut season for the Houston side, attracting praises across the US sporting world. C. J. Stroud came into the league, inspiring the fans with his teenage underdog story. “I was hopeless for a little while… I didn’t know if I was gonna make it out or be anything,” these were the words of the 22-year-old after entering the big stage, reported Associated Press.

He has indeed earned the spot with his outstanding performances and has also shown a ray of hope for the Houston fans after a three dreadful seasons. Not only fans, legends and sport stars have repeatedly spoken highly of the rookie on multiple occasions. Now, it was Trae Young who decided to share his two cents.

Texans’ rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud has put up a great show so far in the season. Tonight, he registered two touchdowns with 10-of-13 for 151 yards. Stroud helped his team take home a 19-23 win in a do-or-die game. Following the game, Young wrote, “CJ Stroud not a regular Rookie !” on his X handle.

On the other hand, Stroud has also been on the hunt for the Rookie of the Year award this season.

Apart from Young in the NBA, superstar LeBron James has also displaced his appreciation for the rookie in his own way.

When the Los Angeles Lakers visited the Houston Rockets in a Wednesday night encounter, the Texans rookie Stroud made a special appearance on the hardwood. During one of the game breaks, Stroud was given a task to perform outside his expertise. He headed to the free throw line, with the entire crowd behind his back.

When he missed the first free throw, LeBron James went up to the rookie and embraced him, Sports Illustrated. Even then, Stroud missed all his remaining free throws.
