The Philadelphia Eagles’ head of security, Dom DiSandro, found himself as a centerpiece of a huge debate over the last few days. The ‘Big Dom’ incident took the NFL world by storm and the league recently stepped in two days back to bring it under control. Now, the storm has entered the NBA as well, as Dom was spotted enjoying Joel Embiid’s magic at the Philadelphia 76ers‘ Friday night game against the Atlanta Hawks.

It was certainly an uncanny moment for a head of security to receive a shout-out or a feature on the big screen. But in the case of DiSandro, it’s an entirely different affair. A few days ago, Big Dom engaged in an altercation during the live game between the Eagles and San Francisco 49ers. The incident caused havoc in the sporting world and transcended into the NBA world. It wasn’t a usual sight on an NFL field to witness a head of security directed to be taken away. Well, during the Sunday night game between the 49ers and Eagles, Dom DiSandro engaged in a sideline altercation with San Francisco linebacker Dre Greenlaw. The star linebacker didn’t hesitate to swing his arm at DiSandro. Fortunately, it didn’t land on the big man. Following the incident, both Greenlaw and DiSandro were ejected out of the game.

Two days ago, the NFL sent a memo to all 32 NFL teams, regarding a new rule. The memo prohibited the non-player staff on the field from making physical contact, abusing, taunting, and insulting the on-field players, reported the New York Post. Days after the memo was circulated, the Big Dom entered the NBA world.

Kyle Neubeck, a reporter, shared a video of DiSandro featuring on the big screen of the Wells Fargo Center, the home of the Sixers. Notably, the Sixers were seen cheering for the big man, as he fell into a debacle since the NFL incident. On the other hand, the Hawks and Sixers went toe to toe, marching towards an exciting fourth quarter.

The Sixers had an answer for the Hawks in the last quarter as the rising star Tyrese Maxey exploded alongside Joel Embiid. Let’s get a closer look at the Friday night game.

The Sixers started off the game with a storm as they took a 15-point lead in the first quarter. However, the Hawks gave back a perfect reply by outscoring the home side and took a 7-point lead. The visiting side dropped 45 points in the second quarter alone. Moreover, the Hawks couldn’t carry their momentum after the first half but managed to step into the fourth quarter with a one-point deficit. However, the City of Brotherly Love didn’t leave any opportunity for the Atlanta side to get back into the game. The Trae Young-less side succumbed to a 125-114 loss.
