With the Dallas Mavericks returning to the American Airlines Center for two home games, the fans of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving made sure they secured a ticket for game 3. One of them was none other than Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany, who made a courtside appearance. While one side of social media was loving the support from Mahomes, another side had a few thoughts about the quarterback’s fashion choice for the game. A few were appreciative, but a few did not hold back on the 28-year-old.

Mahomes, a known fan of the Mavs, went fancy with the jewelry on his live attendance this time. The 3x NFL champion wore a plain black t-shirt and grey zipped jeans, while his wife Brittany wore a white t-shirt along with a floral jacket. Anyhow, the highlight was the diamond on Mahomes’ neck. 

Mahomes is not the fans’ favorite when it comes to fashion. In his previous live attendance during a regular season game between the Dallas Mavericks and the Denver Nuggets in March, Mahomes pulled up in a simple blue Louis Vuitton t-shirt along with Dirk Nowitzki, which failed to impress the fans on the internet. 

For starters, a fan wrote on X, “Why Pat look like his mom dressed him up for his 1st day of middle school,” taking a jab at his outfit. Three months later, Mahomes has arrived at the American Airlines Center once again, let’s see what the fans have to say now.

Patrick Mahomes has been a staunch Mavs fan for years. The quarterback is often seen hyping his team on social media. He has even revealed that he carries the discussions to the Cheifs’ locker room, predicting the Mavs score. But this fan side of Mahomes wasn’t fairly met upon his courtside appearance, thanks to his fashion choice that overshadowed.

It’s good that Mahomes added a chain to his outfit because a few on social media were in awe of it. A fan wrote, “Mahomes’ chain is crazy”, reacting to a video of the NFL star supporting Kyrie Irving’s clutch three-pointer in the second quarter. The above comment from a fan might be an understatement, because here is another user who tweeted, “Patrick Mahomes has the best jeweler holy shit I nearly got blinded through my tv”. 

Positivity shined this time, but the internet always has two sides. A fan said, “Ain’t no reason for black diamonds to be doing all that,” mocking Mahomes for his hilarious reaction on the sideline. This was not the most brutal comment, however. Another fan tweeted, “Get Patrick Mahomes off my TV screen”, going all out on the Chiefs quarterback who seemed engulfed in his team’s 4-point lead. 

“Patrick Mahomes dressing like this in 2024 is diabolical,” tweeted another user, so the scores are even maybe. But that is just how the internet works. However, compared with the reactions from the fans last time, it’s indeed an improvement.
