Playing with the most talented people in the world and having experienced countless historic moments across multiple sports, it’s not that easy to impress Stephen Curry. But even he was left in awe when he saw NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes showcasing his hidden basketball skills. Reviewing the footage of an unknown player wearing jersey No. 5, Curry said, “I was going to give him some compliments on how fluid he was.” And when Steph found out that the player was none other than Mahomes during his High School days, he couldn’t believe it, “No, it’s not!”

With that viral moment making the rounds on social media, we found five more wholesome moments between the two legends that won America’s hearts.

1. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce triumph over The Splash Brothers

Despite coming from two different worlds, Steph and Mahomes share a common passion for golf. And last year in June, they put that passion to test by competing against each other in a charity match. While Mahomes partnered with his Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce, Steph also brought some backup in form of his Splash Brother Klay Thompson. After what turned out to be a pretty one-sided affair, the NFL duo beat Steph and Klay with a birdie on the 10 hole. Winning five holes to the Splash Brothers’ one, Mahomes and Kelce won the bragging rights over the Warriors duo.

2. Stephen Curry redeems himself just days later

While Mahomes got the better of Steph in the team encounter, the Warriors superstar didn’t take too long to redeem himself. During the practice round of the American Century Championship, both stars participated in a longest drive competition on the 16 hole. Mahomes set the tone early and led the pack with a massive 317-yard drive. But just as the Chiefs star was ready to declare himself the winner, Steph one upped him by hitting a drive just one yard further than what Mahomes shot.

Learning that he beat Mahomes, Steph dropped his club in celebration as the crowd cheered him on.

3. Mahomes wishes to be as cool as Steph

It looks like most of Steph and Mahomes’ memorable moments have come on the golf course. Winning the American Century Championship last year, Steph showed everyone that he is not just a one-sport athlete. In an impressive moment that will be remembered for ages, Steph shocked everyone by hitting a hole-in-one and becoming the first to ever do it on the 152-yard. And while Mahomes was also part of that tournament and competing against Steph, his amazing skill even turned the NFL star into a fan.

Mahomes tweeted, “I wish i was as cool as @StephenCurry30.”

4. Steph gives Mahomes his flowers

Although competitors on the golf course, both Steph and Mahomes are legends in their respective sport. And while Mahomes wanted be as cool as Steph, it’s not like he is any less cooler on the football field. Arguably the best to ever do it, even the Baby-Faced Assassin understood the greatness of Mahomes and the impact he has had on the game of football. “If you know anything about the NFL and you watch games and pay attention to the news cycle, there are certain names that move the needle… and Patrick is obviously at the top of that list.” Curry said in an interview with The Post in February. Understanding how difficult it is to dominate a sport for a long time, Curry was grateful to be on the same boat as Mahomes and revealed his admiration for the Super Bowl Champion.

5. Patrick Mahomes compares himself to Stephen Curry

After watching Mahomes’ High School basketball highlights and hearing Steph appreciate his game, it has become clear that the NFL star was a decent ball player. But was he good enough to make it to the NBA? Well, Mahomes certainly seems to think so. When asked during an interview if he thinks he is football’s Steph Curry, Mahomes made a bold claim, “If I played basketball, I’d be just like Steph Curry.” Then, he claimed that if he got some more practice and a couple of extra reps, he would shoot just like Steph.

While Mahomes’ response was all in good fun, it gave the fans another memorable moment between their two beloved stars. Hopefully, they will keep crossing paths in the future and entertaining the fans with their friendly banter and mutual admiration.
