LeBron James and Tom Brady: Who's the bigger legend in American sports history?

Two GOATS in one frame. At least, that’s what the majority of the US sports universe felt after Tom Brady recently linked up with LeBron James. Team USA Basketball has had a dominant stretch in the Paris Olympics and has entered the knockouts with a bang. Now, they are all set to face Brazil in the quarter-final clash and move a step closer to their quest for gold. While the team already looked overpowered and motivated, the NFL legend has further boosted it with his apt message of assurance.

Brady and his daughter, Vivian, who had a busy schedule in Paris, witnessing the games, found time for Team USA and LeBron James. The duo was spotted at a party hosted by USA Basketball, celebrating its golden jubilee. The star-studded event paved the way for plenty of wholesome moments. One of them was the rare linkup between King James and Tom Terrific. Following the party, he shared a picture of himself with his daughter and LeBron James on his Instagram stories, along with an important 4-worder.

It read, “We got your back,” with the United States flag emoji. In response, James reshared it on his official handle and wrote “Yessir!!!” with the flag, salute, and high-fiving emoticons. So far in the tournament, James & Co. had an easy run, dominating their opponents with blowout wins. Importantly, the roster displayed an all-round effort and didn’t just rely on one player, contrary to what we had seen in the Exhibition games.

However, stepping into the knockouts, things could take a U-turn. Even coach Steve Kerr, while assuring that Kevin Durant would continue to come off the bench, stressed that the games would get tougher from then on. One may expect Team USA to win the gold medal effortlessly with the same firepower. However, looking closely at how the tournament has progressed, the hoopers have to tighten their cohesion screws against teams like Germany and France.

While we’re on the topic, why not roll back the calendar to Tom Brady and LeBron James heartwarmingly speaking about each other?

LeBron James and Tom Brady’s unmatched camaraderie

LBJ and Brady are undoubtedly two modern greats in their respective sports. Even though they don’t meet often, when they do, they do it with a bang. There are multiple instances of it. Notably, when King James was constantly asked when he would hang the boots, he decided to put an end to such a question by dragging Tom Brady.

LeBron James compared himself to Brady, who was then playing for the New England Patriots, and said, “I’m not at the conclusion of my story. So no, not the way I feel right now. Me and Tom Brady are one in the same. We’re going to play until we can’t walk no more.”
