Days After LeBron James’ Fanboying of Deion Sanders, Oregon Wore Lakers Star’s Nike to Hand “Coach Prime” First Loss as Colorado Incharge

LeBron James has been very vocal about his fandom of Colorado Buffaloes Head Coach Deion Sanders. As the Buffaloes went undefeated in the first 3 games of the 2023 season under the leadership of Coach Prime, King James was all over social media, acknowledging the Sanders’ era in college football. But the Oregon Ducks gave a minor hiccup to the reign of the NFL legend, handing him his first loss as the Head Coach of the Buffaloes.

The Oregon Ducks not only defeated Coach Prime’s team, they did it wearing King James’ Nike sneakers to the game.

Oregon hands Coach Prime his first loss of the season

The Colorado Buffaloes have been on cloud nine since Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders signed as their Head Coach last year. Sanders proved his worth by helping his new team win the first 3 games of the season. But another undefeated team, the Oregon Ducks brought the Buffaloes back to earth by defeating them for the first time in the Coach Prime era. The loss was a humiliating one for the NFL Legend as the Ducks dominated the Buffaloes 42-6.

The Oregon Ducks looked ready to break Coach Prime’s winning streak even before they stepped foot on the football field. Sponsored by multi-billion-dollar sports apparel brand Nike, the entire Ducks roster wore LeBron James’ sneakers on their way to the stadium. The LeBron 20 sneakers worn by the team came in a player-exclusive Green and Yellow color combination, deeming them the ‘Oregon Ducks’ colorway.

The choice of sneakers was ironic as King James is a huge fan of Coach Prime, and the Ducks handed the NFL legend his first loss wearing his biggest fan’s sneakers.

The Colorado Buffaloes need to bounce back

After the Oregon Ducks broke the Colorado Buffaloes’ undefeated streak in dominant fashion, Coach Prime will look to bounce back in the next game.
