The Portland Trail Blazers would be starting the new season on a clean slate. Coach Chauncey Billups is in his third season, while Scoot Henderson will be the new cornerstone of the franchise after Damian Lillard requested a trade.
Henderson comes into the league with lots of expectations and it is to be seen whether he can cope up with those expectations. His head coach and 1x NBA champion thinks that he can not only cope with the expectations but exceed the hype.

Scoot Henderson was one of the most hyped players coming into the league. He could have been the consensus No.1 overall pick if Victor Wembanyama wasn’t in the same draft. The Blazers got lucky that Scoot Henderson fell to No.3 because the Hornets didn’t want Scoot as they already had LaMelo Ball in his position. Scoot is a supremely athletic point guard, who plays the game at 100 miles an hour. Scoot is being compared with the likes of Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook. A fine company to be in.
“Scoot [Henderson] is going to be a star in this league… He looks like he’s the starting safety of the Denver Broncos. He’s going to be an exciting player for the whole world to watch”

His head coach Chauncey Billups thinks that Scoot would become a “star” in the NBA. Billups, who himself was one of the best point guards of his era, said, “Scoot [Henderson] is going to be a star in this league… He looks like he’s the starting safety of the Denver Broncos. He’s going to be an exciting player for the whole world to watch.”
If Dame is traded, then the Blazers would start the season without their best player. And it would be up to Scoot Henderson to fill that void. Portland have a generational talent on their roster and it is up to them to help and develop him into a future NBA star.

Scoot Henderson’s journey to the NBA is very unconventional. He was a highly touted high school prospect who gained recognition for his scoring ability, athleticism, and court vision. While playing for Kell High School in Georgia, college recruiters and scouts recognized Henderson for his basketball skills. But instead of going to college like every other high school player, he decided to join the G-League at the tender age of 17.
He reclassified to graduate a year early and joined the G-League Ignite. A team designed to offer elite prospects an alternative to playing in college or overseas before becoming eligible for the NBA draft. He also became the youngest player to sign a million dollar contract when he decided to join G-League Ignite.
