Since he replaced Jimmy Garoppolo in the starting role, Brock Purdy has been on a roll. The 24-year-old not just impressed the sporting world, but also dived into the MVP conversation. Many sporting stars have remarked on the San Francisco 49ers’ talented quarterback. In that lineup, the Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton has also joined the list.
The Pacers star’s praise came amidst Purdy’s dominant performance during the NFC Championships game against the Detroit Lions. After a shaky start, the 49ers bounced back with a massive comeback. Purdy covered 267 yards with 1 touchdown, and it was enough to get a shout-out from Haliburton. He took to his X handle and wrote, “That boy 13 making plays!!” Notably, Purdy dons #13 jersey on the field.

After falling short by 17 points in the first half, the 49ers managed to pull off, come back in the second half, and took home a 34-31 win. And with that win, the 49ers head to the Super Bowl LVIII for the 2019 rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs. The team misses out on several star players from the 2019 team and completely rests their fate on the new team. And Purdy is one of them who is expected to bring back the glory.
A few hours before the 49ers game, the Kansas City Chiefs registered their spot in the Super Bowl LVIII with their win against the Baltimore Ravens. Following the game, Travis Kelce grabbed the attention of the entertainment world, as the star was seen having a passionate moment with singer Taylor Swift on the field.
Now that the stage has been set for the showdown, Purdy, who has already surpassed the expectations set on him, should bring in his A-game to help the Niners cross the finish line.

Weeks before the NFC Championship game, Haliburton spoke about Purdy in an interview with The Athletic. Importantly, the Pacers star seemed to have drawn parallels with Purdy’s career. The 49ers’ rising star is proving his greatness with each passing season. Similarly, Haliburton has also risen to the MVP conversation in his fifth season.
Speaking about Purdy, he said, “I’ve been pushing the Brock Purdy agenda since we were 18, so it’s not going to stop anytime soon. Yeah, I believe he’s the MVP of the league. Just keep doing what he’s doing.”
