A strong earthquake hit the East Coast on Friday morning, sending shockwaves throughout New York, New Jersey, and even Pennsylvania. The earthquake measured 4.8 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was in Readington Township, New Jersey. It was one of the strongest quakes to hit the region in recent history.

Although the earthquake didn’t cause major damage or injuries, it disrupted the routines of people living in the surrounding regions. People took to social media to show their distress of being rocked by the violent waves and the rumblings that threw away the objects around their homes and damaged their walls. The five boroughs in the city reported the rumbling, and some even saw the Statue of Liberty swaying around during the initial earthquake. Of course, it caused the entire city and surrounding area to pause for some time. Out of fear, it even disrupted the Brooklyn Nets’ routine for some time. The Nets were right in the middle of their practice session when the quake occurred. Mikal Bridges and Kevin Ollie in particular did feel the earth shake. Both of them later spoke about their experience of the earthquake.

When asked about the earthquake, he smiled and replied, “I’m used to it,” which described his familiarity with it because of his upbringing in Los Angeles. His experience would have surely helped the team and also the players and staff who were experiencing it for the 1st time.
