Are the Warriors unstoppable in the West, or will the young Thunder derail their title dreams?

Does the 2024/25 NBA Season belong to the Golden State Warriors? Interestingly, this could be a possibility. Stephen Curry & Co. have been on a roll since Day One. Preseason hype? They’ve lived up to it. Just three losses in fifteen games. Western Conference? They’re sitting pretty at No. 1. Oh, and here’s the twist—an old good-luck charm is back in the mix. So, could the Warriors be cruising to another Larry O’Brien? At least, analyst Bob Myers is optimistic about it.

Former Warriors GM Bob Myers stirs the pot with Kendrick Perkins, but the real twist? Kendrick Lamar. The 17-time Grammy-winning rap icon seems to carry a bit of championship magic. Every time Lamar drops an album, the Warriors bring home the trophy. Four times since 2015, to be exact. Coincidence? Feels more like destiny. “The Warriors have been popping in the West like Kendrick Lamar’s new album,” Big Perk said.

Moreover, the Warriors have a strong synergy that’s binding their game together. With Draymond Green leading the defense, the Dubs are delivering a solid performance in every game. “I believe that the Warriors are legit title contenders, but I need to know Bob, do you believe that they’re legit?” Perkins asked Bob Myers.

“I think they’re gonna win it every year,” the ex-general manager expressed on ESPN Live. But this year was a bit different. This could be because of the previous season’s disappointments the Dubs gave to their fans. “I didn’t, going into the season, but now that I got this thing on, I feel very confident in the things I say, I feel good,” he shared. Now, a question: Why did Bob Myers change his mind that the  Warriors could become title contenders in 2024/25?

“They have certainly looked like it, yeah, why not? I mean, here’s why I will say why not. I’m actually surprised the West hasn’t looked as strong as it has. In ’22 when I was there, we huddled up. I was talking to Mike Dunleavy and he said, this is our chance because there’s no dominant team. I feel like there’s no dominant team.” There’s probably no one in the Western Conference to challenge Steph Curry & Co. at this point. Except maybe the Lakers or the Thunder who are catching up with the ever-dominating Golden State Warriors.

Meanwhile, Bob Myers has named the biggest obstacle for the Warriors in the West.

Bob Myers calls Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s Oklahoma City Thunder the obstacle of the Western Conference

The OKC Thunder was an unbeatable side in the initial phase of the ongoing NBA season. But, as the games rolled in further, they began to drop; considerably. Currently, in second place on the Western Conference point chart, Bob Myers feels Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s side could be an obstacle for his favorite side, the Golden State Warriors. Surprisingly, the former CM did not name LeBron James’s LA Lakers as a contender!

“Oklahoma City. I still think they’re gonna be hard to get around, but that’s the only team, that’s the only one I see is an obstacle for the Warriors right now,” Bob Myers strongly claimed. Here’s why the Thunder could pose a threat to the Dubs’ championship dreams.

First, they have the youngest roster in the NBA this season, Second, their greatest game-changer Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is on a roll, with an average of 28.7 points per game and an insane field goal percentage of 50. Moreover, he is the alleged MVP contender of the season. So, it isn’t surprising that the GM-turned-analyst is emphasizing Oklahoma is a potential threat.

The road to another title wouldn’t be a cakewalk for the Warriors. However, there could be a speck of hope with Kendrick Lamar’s album drop. Could the lucky charm work once again? We could place our bets on it. But for now, Steve Kerr’s boys need to watch out for the young OKC Thunder side because they are the ‘real deal’ of the best and the rightful challengers of the Dubs.
