The Memphis Grizzlies are spiraling down with continuous defeats in the season. The team has lost 13 out of its 15 games and there seem to be no signs of bouncing back with the current team. Importantly, it directly affected the fans’ involvement with the team. Especially, after the Sunday night loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards expressed his disappointment about the crumbling fan base of the Grizzlies. Moreover, he also shed light on the absence of Ja Morant.
Almost every loyal NBA fan is aware of the Ja Morant situation. The young star’s 25-game suspension has already done enough damage to the Grizzlies as they stand at the 14th seed with a 3-13 record. With nine more games left in the suspension, the team could land far from the revival zone. Moreover, Edwards felt that this situation could have affected the team’s fandom. During the Sunday night encounter, the Wolves took home an effortless win over the Grizzlies as they struggled in all the departments of the game. Anthony Edwards and his men maintained a steady 20-point lead throughout the game and registered a 97-119 victory. Ant-Man led the pack with 24 points and 7 assists.
The Memphis side solely depended on Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane on the offensive end, but they only managed to drop 18 and 13 points respectively. On top of it, they shot only at 40% and disappointing 2-19 record from the arc at the stroke of the first half break. It was enough for the Wolves to take a comfortable lead.
Following the game, he expressed his concerns about the lack of involvement of the Memphis crowd, reported Jonah Dylan, a sports reporter. Edwards said, “The fans was dead. I’ve never played in Memphis like this. This is my first time being in Memphis and not having the crowd into the game. So it’s kind of hard to get into it…I was surprised. They usually be amped up.”

The suspension really did the trick on the youngster, as he completely altered his social media usage. Earlier, the 24-year-old often took to his social media to share his images and video clips from his flamboyant lifestyle. Lately, the star barely uploads a story. Notably, he took to his IG stories on Thanksgiving and shared three things, which he was thankful for. It included his parents, his high school, and MBNO (My brothers, no others), his clothing line. With a change in attitude, there are chances that the star could hit the ground running and change the tides for the Grizzlies.
