While half of the NBA was asleep, a blockbuster trade took place. No one expected such a turn of events. And as usual, Woj was the first one to break it into the world. Shams came later with the details of the trade; however, the news is still a fantasy for the 10-time All-Star NBA player.

What the fans of the Philadelphia 76ers fail to see is that, along with the ‘Notorious’ player, there were other players who were traded off. With the Sixers themselves not believing the trade news, the ground was not level for all the feelings.

Kenyon Martin Jr., a side business

The LA Clippers got James Harden, PJ Tucker, and Filip Petrusev. However, they included the star player of the NBA G League All-Rookie Team (2021) in the trade-off. Hence, the Philadelphia 76ers now have possession of Kenyon Martin Jr. Well, the father seems a bit emotional about the trade.

Kenyon Martin just had an interaction on Gil’s Arena and did drop a tear while narrating the whole trade-off.

When asked about how he feels about the situation, he said, “We are a basketball family and we understand that it is a business… On that regard, you know, he is tough, but uhh…to be able to comfort him in his moment when he was just like ‘WHY’”

He added, “It’s a good thing for him; it’s a good thing basketball-wise. He is going into a situation where he can get more minutes.”

This was a much-expected reaction from the father. After all, it all comes down to the family dynamic. While playing for the Clippers, KJ had a chance to be near his family.

It’s not been a smooth journey for the 22-year-old player since he was drafted back in 2020. Initially, he was drafted by the Sacramento Kings in November 2020. however, later traded off to the Houston Rockets by the end of the month.

The Houston Rockets then put him on their G League affiliate team, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, where he helped register a win. Months later, in January 2021, Kenyon had his first face-off against the Dallas Mavericks. However, his official debut was against the Orlando Magic, where he scored 7 points on 3-3 shooting.
