It has only been five years since Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob bought his 5,512 square feet mansion in Malibu for $29.1 million, with $350,000 in annual property taxes. The beachfront property, originally built in 1970, is pretty massive, featuring 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a gym, and a theatre. However, it looks like he is ready to move on, as he has reportedly listed the mansion for sale. In addition to this, Lacob’s Malibu mansion is located right next to Stephen Curry’s $50 million luxurious retreat.

Planning to buy it? Well, you’d better have deep pockets with at least $44 million. The place kicks off with a dope private courtyard and a waterfall wall, leading to killer ocean views thanks to huge glass walls and decks. Inside, there’s a slick floating staircase made of glass and wood, and the open layout means you get ocean views from all three levels.
The main level’s got a dramatic Italian fireplace, a glass wine wall, and Fleetwood glass doors that open up the space. There’s a top-notch chef’s kitchen with a center island and breakfast counter, a home theater, a chill lounge area with a glass-enclosed gym, and an elevator. The primary suite upstairs comes with deck access, a luxe bathroom, and a walk-in closet for some serious comfort.

In addition to that, the mansion has direct beach access and two outdoor showers. The third level has an epic deck featuring a fire table that seats 12, a barbecue island with a kitchen, a chill lounge area with a fire pit, and a hot tub.
How did Joe Lacob become the owner of the Golden State Warriors?
Born to a Jewish family in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Joe Lacob was always on the path to success. He worked in various positions throughout his career, but things took off for him in 1987 when he joined Kleiner Perkins. That’s where he started making moves with smart investments, setting himself up for the big leagues.

After being a minority owner of the Boston Celtics, Lacob teamed up with Peter Gruber to snag the Warriors for $450 million in 2010. Since then, the Warriors have been on fire, winning NBA championships in 2014-15 2016-17, 2017-18, and 2021-22. They even made history in the 2015-16 season, setting records with the best regular-season record (73-9) and the most wins in a single season (88).
When asked how he turned the Warriors around so fast, Lacob said, “isn’t one big thing; it’s a lot of little things. … There’s a relentless — and I capitalize that word — pursuit of excellence every single day in this organization.” He also had the back of the organization after the tough 2016 NBA Finals loss. Lacob said, “All I think about is getting better; that’s what our job is,” meaning he’s all about improving and pushing forward, no matter what.
