The Sea Captian is looking for a three-year deal, expecting to land around $20-$25 million a year. However, his recent spotting may have just revealed his plans.

The four-time champ was spotted in Mile High City. Most of the Twitteratis believe him to be joining the MVP and Murray. But why would the Nuggets add Klay while KCP is on the roster? For starters, KCP is exploring his free agency after he declined his $15.7 million player option. The Nuggets could look to replace him with Klay if they offer a suitable contract. Considering Klay’s value, he could land a deal fetching him at least $20 million a year. If Denver loses KCP, they will need a reliable shooter.

Of course, MPJ, Gordon, and Murray are all consistent shooters from the outside but KCP’s spot will need a likable replacement. And that is where Klay comes in. His performance in recent years wasn’t up to mark, but he will look to get back to draining shots like he used to. Not to mention his on-ball defense, Klay is still a valuable asset to teams like the Nuggets or any top contenders.

Denver came up short against the Wolves in the second round this postseason, being one of the favorites to make it out of the West. The franchise is on the right track and can expect to win another title soon. The Nuggets have the option to bring in Thompson, solidifying their roster and becoming a serious threat in the West. Not only would this be a highlighting move from Denver this offseason, but fans also want the same for Klay.
