The NBA pre-season is in full swing as the teams sharpen their arsenals to go head-to-head against each other. In the midst of it, the Detroit Pistons took a different approach with their youngster Cade Cunningham at the center. The gestures from the 22-year-old caught everyone’s attention as he made a young fan’s day.

Cade took some time out of his schedule to showcase his wholesome side to the audience. The NBA world loved to watch it as they showered praise on the 1st pick of the 2021 NBA Draft.

Recently, the Detroit Pistons held an open practice session for their fans in the Little Caesars Arena. Ahead of their upcoming pre-season game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the head coach, Monty Williams, gave a speech to the crowd. In the process, he noticed a young supporter holding a sign. It quickly caught the eyes of the 52-year-old as it read, “Cade you?re my hero. Sign my jersey”.

The All-Star coach pointed it out and Cunningham promptly went to the stand to sign the fan’s jersey. As soon as the franchise’s youngster moved close to the viewers, the requests started to flood in. So, he had to spend a good amount of time in that section of the court fulfilling the demands of the supporters.

The Pistons social media team captured the moment as they posted the clip with the caption, “Man of the people.”

The locals seemed excited to get a glimpse of their budding superstar. Of course, the internet took notice of that exchange as comments in support of the point guard’s wholesome gesture started to come in.

Despite the slow start to his career, Cunningham has shown plenty of flashes of the superstar he can be.

Now, off the court, the Pistons star melted the hearts of the followers as people joined in to shower their love for him. One fan in particular commented, “Class,”?to display his respect toward Cade. Another did the same with the statement, “Way to go! Cade”.?

As the clip became public, a few could not hold back the excitement. One of them thus wrote, “CAAAADEEE CUNNINGHAAAAMMMM BASKETBALLLL,” to show his affection.

A person from one of those lucky fans’ families later thanked him for his gesture. “He showed love to my brother today and signed his jersey,” the family member highlighted before adding, “A man of the people.”

The day became memorable for the crowd as Cade Cunningham made it happen for many. With support like this by his side, the entire league now prays for a healthy season for the youngster.
