The rumors about Kevin Durant come at the same time when another player has been linked to a $3.85 billion franchise, the Spurs: Giannis Antetokounmpo. As Jake Fischer said during a recent podcast episode, “San Antonio is definitely going to be, without a doubt, a team that is looking to continue to upgrade and add talent around Victor Wembanyama. We’re already seeing the process happen… We’re seeing them make a move and go out and get the guard (De’Aaron Fox) that they were looking for.”

He needs to be on a promising team that’ll be taken seriously, and be maximized individually. Victor Wembanyama is a rising star. NBA reporter Quenton S. Albertie believes Kevin Durant being convinced of the $3.85 billion franchise‘s worthiness is the team’s biggest obstacle. However, the Suns’ front office might be able to work around that. After all, due to San Antonio’s cache of first-round picks, the trade package could be made enticing enough. The players might not be used on the court that much. However, the picks received from San Antonio could be used for any future transactions.

From the looks of it, Kevin Durant has a big transition heading his way. One hopes that the player does not become too overwhelmed. After all, shifting to the Spurs won’t be the only big move of his this year.

While the Durant-Spurs rumors were running rampant, the Phoenix Suns star occupied the headlines thanks to a confirmed move. Durant’s sports and media company, Boardroom, had earlier announced a new partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB). After the previous $550 million fallout with ESPN, this signing marks the first major deal the MLB has secured.
