The clock is ticking! The NBA Trade Deadline is closing soon, giving teams one last chance to pursue a deal for their benefit. Moreover, the trade market dropped a bomb on the NBA community when Anthony Davis and Luka Doncic swapped jerseys. However, can another trade deal top that? Can the Golden State Warriors do the same? Speculation runs havoc.
The ‘NBA on ESPN’ crew was in full discussion mode during one latest segment. Their focus was on the Warriors, who are yet to make a trade deal during this period. That fact was surprising since the team’s win record is just a bit above .500. Brian Windhorst revealed to acquire a big name like Jimmy Butler or Kevin Durant, “everything’s on the table”. And that means everyone except for Stephen Curry. Kevin O’Connor took these words to create a potential trade scenario.
He wrote on X “If “everything’s on the table” other than Steph Curry as @WindhorstESPN reports here, then “everything” means Draymond Green is also on the table. And if Draymond is movable, his $24M salary opens A LOT of creative options for the Warriors. Buckle up!”

Notably, Brandon Ingram remains the key player on the wishlist. According to reports, the New Orleans Pelicans star could be the all-star type caliber player who could be paired with Steph Curry for the remainder of this season, and possibly beyond. Jake Fischer also highlighted the same viewpoint “We believe that Brandon Ingram is still a secondary option, someone far behind Jimmy Butler and Kevin Durant. If you want to throw LeBron James on the list too, a dreamy ‘can we get this guy targets’ for Golden State. Do it.”
At the same time, Fischer added, “We’ve been told repeatedly that he has no interest in being moved at this juncture. Again, things can change from day to day. Not gonna stop the Warriors from calling.”
All this speculation confirms the stance the Warriors are getting desperate. Especially now, with the Trade Deadline just mere hours away. Fans might remember two weeks ago, the Bay Area franchise’s record kept declining. Stephen Curry made a few things clear as trade speculation arose. Amongst them was a request to Mike Dunleavy Jr. and the Golden State Warriors brass, not to make any “desperate” trades. Something that puts the team in a future-compromising effort just to give Curry one more shot at a championship title.
All that has been thrown out the window as names like Jimmy Butler, Kevin Durant, and Brandon Ingram are being put out. After all, these veterans would not be made to join the team unless an enticing offer was made in exchange. Given how the Warriors have worn down, 4 members of the Warriors squad got listed in the ‘Danger Zone’.
And not the good, ‘Top Gun’ level of ‘Danger Zone’.
Which players land in jeopardy amidst Brian Windhorst’s recent update?
Significantly, the Athletic reporters Sam Amick, David Aldridge, and Anthony Slater recently reported on a potential three-team trade. The same would potentially involve the Warriors, Phoenix Suns, and Miami Heat. The same would send Jimmy Butler to the Phoenix Suns, and Kevin Durant to the Warriors (again).

In exchange, the Bay Area franchise will trade away Andrew Wiggins. When discussing Butler, the team listed Wiggins as the “obvious salary match” since he holds a $26.2 million cap figure. Meanwhile, Slater also believes the expiring contract of Kevon Looney ($8 million) can be used to leverage a deal.
If Wiggins and Looney weren’t enough, ESPN’s Marc J. Spears decided to add a little more fuel to the fire. He recently speculated on NBA Today, “What helps them a little bit for tomorrow is Dennis Schröder is now available for trade. He has $13 million and now they can add him to a deal. They’re trying, they’re trying, they’re trying. But at some point, either they or somebody else is going to have to blink.”
On top of this, Kevin O’Connor had already indicated the effect that trading Draymond Green would have. The salary cap would open up to explore new options, and Stephen Curry would not have to worry about any other teammates choking Rudy Gobert the next time they see him.
