Until Thursday, nobody’s safe in the NBA world. We all know what happened with Luka Doncic. He must have probably been the most secured player in the Mavs roster. Boom. Rob Pelinka snatched him. On the other hand, Jimmy Butler has been on the trade block for quite some time to get out of the Miami Heat. But, ironically, the star baller doesn’t seem to get a way out. With less than 2 days remaining, Himmy Jimmy finally has his way out, but with a Bradley Beal twist.

We all know how it started. It all began with a suspension when the star publicly said he wasn’t having “fun” with the Heat. Following that, the team took disciplinary action and suspended him twice. Currently, serving an indefinite suspension, one thing is very clear between the Heat and Butler, which is a trade-out. In the words of NBA Insider Shams Charania, “They (Heat and Butler) have the same goal in mind between now and Thursday and that is to ship Jimmy Butler out of Miami in a trade.” 

So, what’s the progress? Nothing has changed since the controversial presser. The Warriors and the Suns were the ones regularly involved in the trade talks. Butler recently clarified that he wasn’t ready for a long-term commitment with the Dubs and ultimately ended the negotiation. Now that the ball is in the Phoenix Suns’ court, the latest update from the Valley side can still help the Warriors. Here’s how.

For the longest time, the rumors linked Jimmy Butler with Bradley Beal for the team. However, to make it happen, Beal shouldn’t use his golden pass, the no-trade clause. While there was debate around whether the guard would waive his no-trade clause, the latest update via The Athletic reported that the star “reiterated” that he would remain with the Suns.

So, this is where the Dubs will get their jackpot. The Suns will have to look for an alternate path to land Butler and that will be through Kevin Durant. Let’s find out how.

It’s so simple. We have been hit with multiple rumors stating that the Warriors are aggressively pursuing to rope Kevin Durant into the roster again. While we heard that the Suns declined the proposal immediately, Steph & Co. may have a second chance. Now that Beal has decided to stick with the Suns, now, the Valley side will have to look for another big name, that will be KD, if they really want to rope in Butler.

At the same time, there are multiple rumors about a three-team deal in the making involving the Suns, Warriors, and Heat. It seems like the Warriors are not far from signing Slim Reaper.

Above all, Sham Charania, speaking of the trade drama, revealed the negotiating power that Butler holds in this deal. He said, ” Butler has a player option for next season that gives him an amount of leverage to dictate whom he wants to commit to long term and the sources tell me that one team that he is willing to give a long-term commitment to moving forward are Phoenix Suns.” That ultimately means the Warriors have a true chance.
