When will Joel Embiid play a full NBA season without missing games? I guess, we’ll never know this mystery. He hasn’t played a game in the last three weeks due to foot and knee injuries and is most likely to stay out for a longer period. The former MVP has barely played 13 games so far in the season. Mostly he’s been out on the sidelines, hoping he was on the court helping his team win. But, now might not be the time for his return.
Joel Embiid joined Monday’s practice but only in a limited capacity. The Philadelphia 76ers further confirmed he’ll miss the next two games. On the bright side, his left knee is responding well to treatment. Meanwhile, The Process was seen doing something he shouldn’t be doing in his condition. An unconventional move for guarding Tyrese Maxey: a headstand. What? Not one but two of them one after the other.

Embiid who has already missed more than six games with a foot sprain, swelling in his surgically repaired left knee sidelined him again. The Sixers will re-evaluate in a week or so. Embiid already missed games earlier this season for knee management, a suspension, and more swelling. His knee, once fixed after a torn meniscus last year, just won’t stay quiet.
And let’s just say, the 30-year-old center’s latest guarding techniques are anything but amusing to the fans who just can’t wrap their head around the idea that their star is being careless amidst the injuries.

Joel Embiid’s absence from the games amidst injuries is a curious unsolved case
After returning from his first set of injuries earlier this season, Joel Embiid featured in nine out of twelve games for the Sixers. Meanwhile, The Process’ setbacks keep piling up. A sinus fracture forced him into a mask, and back-to-backs kept him sidelined twice. But on Christmas Day, in a hard-fought win over the Celtics, he sprained his left foot late in the game.
What’s your perspective on:
Can the Sixers rely on Embiid, or is his injury saga becoming too much to handle?
Have an interesting take?
This turn curious as Embiids status became a rollercoaster. He played four of five games despite a questionable tag for his foot sprain but then missed six straight. Hopes for a return rose when he was a game-time decision but crashed when he was ruled out last minute. Just as his foot healed, a knee flare-up after a workout sidelined him again, keeping him out even longer.

However, his Monday activities in the post-practice shootaround with Tyrese Maxey have thrown the fans into a frenzy. They have filled the comment section with messages like, “Out 4-6 weeks with a bruised hand from doing handstands,” and “Just another bad look for Jo. Have some awareness.” You truly cannot blame the fans for raising their eyebrows at Joel Embiid’s odd antics as someone also pointed out: “Knee seems fine to me.”
