NBA reporter Jake Fischer claimed that the Indiana Pacers are targeting Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins before the February trade deadline. “I keep hearing Andrew Wiggins’ name there,” Fischer said during the No Cap Room Podcast. He also said that the Pacers had already been looking at Jonathan Kuminga as one of their top trade targets. “I know that Jonathan Kuminga was another Warriors player that the Pacers have been keeping tabs on and calling Golden State about dating back to last draft,” he added.

The Warriors are reportedly interested in acquiring Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam. They are waiting to see how Stephen Curry and Co. look with Draymond Green back in the lineup before they make an offer. The Warriors letting go of Jonathan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins to make room for a star like Siakam is a real possibility. Meanwhile, two talented young players like Kuminga and Wiggins can help elevate the Indiana Pacers squad.

How do Jonathan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins fit with the Pacers?
The Indiana Pacers have had a great season so far. Their superstar Tyrese Haliburton has led them to the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 22-15 record. But the Pacers are still not a legitimate threat to win the Championship this season. The addition of Warriors players Jonathan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins can change that for the Pacers.
Wiggins was the second-best player behind Stephen Curry in the Warriors’ 2022 Championship run. He averaged 18.3 points and 8.8 rebounds in the NBA Finals and helped Stephen Curry and Co. win their 4th Championship. Even though Wiggins has not been playing at that level this season, his Championship experience can immensely help the Indiana Pacers in the playoffs.

Jonathan Kuminga has also been a great pickup for the Warriors. The third-year player is averaging 12.8 points and 4.1 rebounds this season. But he has not been happy with his playing time in the Warriors rotation. If the Pacers acquire Kuminga before the deadline, he could take his career to the next level by playing for a younger squad. It will be interesting to see if the deal between the Pacers and the Warriors goes through, as that could change the future of both franchises.
