It’s all but sunny in Phoenix thanks to the Suns’ 1-5 record. The trouble has doubled as well with the latest reports of the franchise’s decision to bench Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic. But now with the recent form, things can easily turn into a dumpster fire if Kevin Durant gets itchy feet. Not that his size 18 shoes aren’t clean enough, but the fact KD has only a year remaining in his contract after this season, makes things more dubious.

And here’s the news flash! The situation around the Slim Reaper just might put one NBA team on high alert. That’s the Rockets. At least a national media personnel believes so. On the latest episode of the Hoops Collective podcast, Tim MacMahon nudged the situation in Arizona towards more uncertainty. “Well, you know who feels great about the Suns situation right now? The Houston Rockets, who starting with this draft for the pick swap has a whole bunch of Phoenix Suns, future draft capital that that’s bounced from Brooklyn back to them,” MacMahon pointed out on the show.

“The Rockets are the ones who were feeling the rosiest about this whole situation,” the journalist added. Windhorst then shifted attention to KD’s contract situation. Durant signed a 4 year, $194,219,320 contract with the Nets back in 2022. Thanks to majority owner Mat Ishbia’s lack of CBA awareness, the Suns traded the 2-time All-Star in a make-or-break effort, giving away future picks.

But the bigger blunder made was the Bradley Beal trade last season, in turn crippling the franchise with financial burdens. The guard’s return has been the bare minimum over the two seasons he has been with the franchise and is one of the issues even Mike Budenholzer has failed to address.

Durant who might not have a lot of years in the tank could easily have his feathers ruffled with the Suns’ current free fall. And if there’s one thing that is certain in the league, that’s the element of surprise– anything can happen and a KD trade isn’t something too hard to imagine. With the situation worsening, the franchise is facing increasing troubles.

Potential rift emerging between Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal

The miseries for Phoenix seem endless. When the Suns brought Bradley Beal on board, the plan was to form a Big 3 with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, one that could lead them to their final goal– the championship title. However, it appears that cracks are beginning to form in the equation.

In a viral photo, KD and D-Book were spotted laughing on the sidelines with under three seconds remaining in the Suns’ loss to the Pacers. The 14-time All-Star faced heavy criticism from fans for that, and even his teammate had a sly remark about it.

Is the Suns' Big 3 experiment with Beal, Durant, and Booker a failed venture already?

Following the loss, Beal addressed the situation by saying, “We’re definitely pissed off,” during a locker room interview. Then came the bold confession, “We’re not happy about it. It’s a good thing, though. You don’t guys smiling and happy and sh*t after four losses.”

This clearly shows that nothing seems to be going right in the Phoenix camp. Mat Ishbia needs to act quickly to prevent further issues, as it won’t take long for the team to fall apart. Do you think the franchise is making the right move with the Beal situation? Share your thoughts with us!
