The Play-in tournament kicked off the postseason last night. Among the four teams competing for a spot in the playoffs, only one team made it through, the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lake Show barely defeated the New Orleans Pelicans by four points, with 110-106 as the final score. LeBron James had a near triple-double in the game with 23 points, 9 assists, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals, to take the game away from the Pels despite Zion Williamson’s 40-point effort.
To celebrate their win over the Pelicans, King James recently posted a story on his Instagram. In it, LBJ is sitting calmly on the floor while Austin Reaves is celebrating in an extremely animated way, in the caption Bron playfully wrote “Yeaaahhhh AR that’s what type of time we on!!!”

Reaves also contributed significantly in the game, scoring 15 points, with 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Now the Lakers have their nemesis, the Denver Nuggets, in the first round, which could prove to be the real challenge for LeBron and Co. Darvin Ham and his boys are set on the path of a redemption series against Nikola Jokić.
Last year, the defending champs humiliated Los Angeles with a 4-0 sweep. Will this year be any different?

Can LeBron James and the Lakers make it past the Denver Nuggets?
Last year, the Lakers made it to the Western Conference Finals as the 7th seed. Defeating the mighty Memphis Grizzlies in the first round and then eliminating the Golden State Warriors in the second, to finally meet the Denver Nuggets. The result was a complete wash-out in the favor of the Nuggets. While the loss wasn’t as shocking the fact the Lakers didn’t even win a single game was more devastating.
Well, this year the Lakers have a chance to redeem themselves from the 4-0 blowout. If the Bron, AR, and Anthony Davis hit the right groove they might end up winning the series. However, right now the odds are stacked against them. If this season is to be considered as a benchmark, the Lakers have lost every single time they have played the defending champions.

What’s more alarming, in those matchups Jokić single-handedly leads both teams in four statistical categories. Which include points(26.4), rebounds(9), assists(9), and steals(1.37). So, the Lakers, even if they manage to win, won’t have it easy. On the off chance that they pull the win off, LA will automatically become favorites to win the title alongside the Boston Celtics. Do you think LeBron can win is 5th title?
