The new generation has definitely taken over the postseason this time. With LeBron James and Kevin Durant eliminated in the first round, Kyrie Irving is the only surviving superstar from the last generation. Following his emphatic series alongside Luka Doncic, Uncle Drew dropped his two cents on the current school of ballers with a hilariously brutal “no fear” take.

During the post-game press conference, a reporter asked Kai, who was sitting along with Luka, about his partner’s presence in the competition. The Mavs guard not only spoke about the Slovenian but also included the entire generation. He said, “This younger generation… you know how they have no fear… they don’t see the OG superstars as guys that they look up to as much anymore… they want to kill our record… They want to kill us every time they get on the court.”

Following that hilarious comment, Kyrie also shared his observation on Luka’s run over the last two seasons. He added, “He just had no fear going against the best of the world… Walks around like he’s the best player in the world.” The former champion also reasoned that the 25-year-old’s behavior stemmed from his confidence.

Moreover, Kyrie Irving further expressed his wish to watch Luka grow and “give him that grace.” As the former NBA Champion poured his emotions out, the rising superstar quietly listened to it with a smile on his face beside him. Well, this wasn’t the only wholesome moment that these two had in this entire series.

Irving considered this series against the OKC Thunder as a “hard” one, and he stood as a strong pillar for Luka to get through the storm. And tonight’s win brought out one of the heartwarming moments on camera. Following the final buzzer, the duo hugged each other in the middle with tears welling up in joy.

This postseason hasn’t gone well for the veterans. Stephen Curry couldn’t make it to the postseason after a disappointing finish in the Play-in tournament. Kevin Durant, along with his newly formed super team, crashed out in the first round with a 0-4 defeat. James Harden, who didn’t make much noise in the postseason, had an embarrassing exit as well.

The Lakers and LeBron James also couldn’t cross the line against the defending champions despite a strong fight. Now, the fans are only left with his former partner, Kyrie Irving. The 32-year-old star definitely has the gas to reach another NBA Finals.

Uncle Drew‘s link-up with Luka Doncic has made the magic work in the Dallas town. Both guards have consistently complimented each other on the court. On top of it, the team also has a well-equipped supporting cast. Especially, Dereck Lively II and PJ Washington have chipped into crucial plays whenever they were called upon.

Speaking of Lively after the series win, Luka said, “We don’t win this series without D-Live. He’s been playing amazing. For a rookie not being scared, it’s insane how he play. The way he impacts the game, just amazing, man.” Will the team cross the big hurdle and reach the NBA Finals? Let us know in the comments.
