Jayson Tatum imbibed motivation as a powerful voice hyped him up during an intense Game 3. The Boston Celtics landed in Cleveland after suffering a humiliating loss at the hands of Donovan Mitchell & Co. The Cs also battled the media scrutiny off the court, as JT called out the ‘postseason narrative’ imposed on them. Amid these constraints, he received a hand around his shoulder from Jaylen Brown in the middle of tonight’s game.
In a viral video clip circulating on social media, Brown hyped up Tatum, who was lost in the moment. Mic’d up JB can be heard, saying, “Tell them to stop playing with you. I’m big deuce! I’m big deuce! Come on!”. In return, the star forward nodded his head to acknowledge his partner. He ended up dropping a game-high 33 points with 13 rebounds and anchored a comfortable 106-93 win.

Jayson Tatum has always faced criticism throughout his career. Even though the star hasn’t gotten the big prize, he has put up a great show throughout. The media often criticized him for not showing up in big games and the postseason. Reacting to the JT criticism after the Game 2 loss, Payton Pritchard had a strong response. He said, “It’s just like the casuals who think it’s all about just the shots, but there’s so many different areas he can affect the game.”
While Pritchard stood up for Tatum off the court, Jaylen Brown took the responsibility to keep Big Deuce in the zone. The nickname originated from his beloved son, whom he named Deuce. Speaking of the name, Tatum revealed that he found ‘Deuce’ a lot cooler than adding ‘II’ behind his son’s name.
Bringing up ‘Big Deuce’ certainly did the trick for the Cs, as the star forward led the side to a challenging win. The Cavs almost got the remote in their hand, but a third-quarter flurry did the damage.

Will Jayson Tatum break the narrative and win this 1st chip?
Even though the Celts had a dominant run in the regular season with a 64-18 record, they are still not the favorites to win the ring. It has to do with JT & Co.’s postseason past and the media narrative. Addressing it all, Tatum said, “The world thinks we’re never supposed to lose, we’re supposed to win every game by 25, and it’s just not going to be like that all the time.”
He also broke the super team tag that followed them throughout the season, stating that they don’t have an MVP and Coach of the Year. In fact, Tatum almost painted an underdog image to the side after the Game 2 loss. He added, “We’re not perfect. We play the right way more often than not, and we know we’ve got to be better.”

Now that the team has a 2-1 lead in the series, they will look to end it with the same momentum. However, they have a bigger hurdle in the Conference Finals if they beat the Cavs. They will either face the hungry Knicks or an in-form Pacers in the Finals to get to the biggest stage.
Will the powerful voices on the court help JT achieve his dream? Let us know in the comments.
