Phoenix Suns fans staged a walk-out amid their team’s assault in the third quarter. Kevin Durant & Co. stood no chance against the Minnesota Timberwolves‘ offense throughout the game. On top of it, the visitors orchestrated a 22-point lead late in the third quarter, forcing the Valley side to 0-3 down in the series. Amid this situation, the boisterous fans at Footprint Arena disrespected the team with a walkout in the middle of the show.
Following that, fans online also didn’t restrict themselves from taking a dig at the Suns team. An X user shared the video of Suns fans walking out of the arena. In response to the video, a fan commented, “Suns fans should get full refunds for this game. Just an utterly atrocious effort from Phoenix.”

Here are a few more reactions from the fans.

A disappointed fan listed the Suns’ misery from the last three seasons and predicted an empty arena for Game 4.
The fans have seen this same story for now 3 seasons in a row. No coach can get these players to play right in all 3 of those yrs. All the Suns teams that were special thru our history, have ever played like this. I bet they don't get a full house of actual fans on Sunday.

While most of the fans were stung with disappointment, this fan seemed unsurprised.
Just another embarrassment of a playoff season..Nothing new here

Another fan called out the people for spending their money on tickets despite knowing the outcome in advance.
Why burn money to see them disappoint us when they’ve been doing that all season.

The Suns had a similar fate in the last two seasons as well. After a decent run in the regular season with the heroics of Devin Booker & Co., they have fallen short early in the postseason. In 2022, Luka Doncic & Co. defeated the Suns in the Conference Semi-Final with a 4-3 record. Not to forget the origin of the iconic meme template involving Luka and D-Book in the series.

In 2023, the Denver Nuggets ran down the Suns with a 4-1 series victory, again in the Conference Semis. Notably, they went on to win the championship. While the Suns reached the Semis on both occasions, this season, they are most likely to end the season in the first round, as they are currently 0-3 down.
Will Kevin Durant & Co. push Game 5?
It’s not that very often when a home crowd turns its back on its own team. The Suns can only win their fans’ hearts back by forcing Game 5. This postseason hasn’t been the greatest one for the 2010s basketball fans. Both LeBron James and Kevin Durant are 0-3 down in the first round and Stephen Curry failed to even make it to the playoffs.

The rise of stars like Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, and Jamal Murray has led the league into a new era. In order to keep their fans happy, either KD or Bron have to do the unthinkable. They need to produce the first-ever 0-3 comeback in the history of the league. Speaking of it, James recently said, “Take it one game at a time at this point… Let’s get one and force game 5… As long as you have life and y’all can believe, you play till the wheels fall off.”
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar definitely seemed to be determined to pull off the series win. On the other hand, the Slim Reaper hasn’t made any lavish statements like James. The fans have to wait until Sunday to know the future of this season. Will KD survive? Let us know in the comments.
