Rudy Gobert got candid after the Game 4 loss. The Denver Nuggets turned back the clock and showcased their dominance over the Minnesota Timberwolves. It was a collective effort from the defending champions anchored by the reigning MVP Nikola Jokic. However, Aaron Gordon impressed the French big man with his 27-point night.
Following the game, speaking to the press, Gobert said, “A lot of them were contested, so if Gordon turns into Kobe Bryant, we just got to live with that.” Gordon, who did the rim protection and cleaning job for Jokic & C0. went 11-12 FG tonight to help the Nuggets take a 115-107 win. The comparison with the late Kobe Bryant was a heartwarming one. Back in the day, the Lakers legend threatened the best with his athletics and rim job throughout his career.

Notably, Kobe has recorded two games with 100% FG, however, in those games he played for only a few minutes. Notably, he has recorded above 80% FG five times in his career with a highlight of 10-12 against the Warriors.
Whereas Aaron Gordon recorded 91% tonight, leaving the Wolves defenders clueless. One may argue that the Nuggets star’s performance involved only clean-up jobs and dunks, but, at the same time, he had to go against DPOY Gobert.
Speaking of his role in the side, Gordon said, “You’ve got to pick your poison. Then, I was just lurking on the baseline, trying to clean up all the garbage.” Interestingly, the French big man also has a similar role. Gobert also does the clean-up job for Kat & Ant-Man and at the same time, he has an important duty of guarding the bucket on the other end. Despite the star defender’s 7 ‘1 stature and defensive abilities, Gordon managed to sneak in 11 buckets.

Will Aaron Gordon take the momentum back to Denver?
The Nuggets had a reality check at Ball Arena last time they faced the Wolves. After a triumphant series against the Lakers, they lost two games on the trot at home. The critics pointed fingers at Jamal Murray‘s ‘no show’ on both games, but Gordon also had underwhelming games. In Murray’s absence, he only averaged 14 points in the first two games.
Similarly, during the Game 4 loss against the Lakers, Gordon dropped only 7 points. This may even lead to a conclusion where the Joker and Murray duo might require a step up from the forward to have control over the game.

On the other hand, Rudy Gobert has been struggling ever since he returned to the floor after his son Romeo’s birth. In Game 2, the Wolves produced a blowout 80-106 win without the big man. However, since his return, the team has two back-to-back games, despite having two players, who are 7-foot tall. This leaves the Wolves with one question: will they make a major change in their lineup for the crucial Game 5?
However, Chris Finch might need to step into the timeouts, as the Wolves’ magical run might come to an end in no time. Will Anthony Edwards bring out his magical wand for Game 5? Let us know in the comments.
