Tyrese Maxey did put on a show after the game-tying three-pointer. The Philadelphia 76ers, with the series on the line, struggled to maintain their lead in the last quarter. While the NY Knicks almost took the game away, Maxey dropped two back-to-back three-pointers to tie the game. In fact, the last three-pointer was a deep 34-footer. And it eventually brought out the unreal full-court celebration from the 23-year-old in front of the star-studded Madison Square Garden.

During the post-game press conference, a reporter asked him about the celebration, and Maxey didn’t want to reveal it as it was NSFW. He said, “I was saying some things that my grandma probably wouldn’t like… I’m a happy guy, but I absolutely hate losing.”

Even though Tyrese Maxey started off his statement on a hilarious note, it turned into an emotional deep dive in a few seconds. The All-Star went into the details and emotion behind the celebration. With the series 3-1 down, the Phillies played a must-win game at MSG to force Game 6. Maxey did play like it, putting up great numbers and covering up for the offensive absence of Joel Embiid.

However, in the fourth quarter, the story took a turn when the Knicks picked up the pace and took charge of the game. On top of it, the Sixers gave away a ton of turnovers at the end. Maxey highlighted how the three missed FTs at the crucial point on his side made him upset. Moreover, speaking of the mishaps, he added, “I played pretty well the whole game… lose a game like that… I would have been crushed.”

Nevertheless, the lone warrior made up for those FTs by sinking two back-to-back three-pointers and having a clutch performance in overtime. He ended the game with 46 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists.

Will the Philly fans make up for the Game 4 loss?

Even though winning and losing are in the hands of the players, Joel Embiid had a huge concern for the Philly fans after the Game 4 loss. The Knicks sneaked a 92-97 victory with their brilliant performance. They didn’t just win the game; but also had the loudest fans in the house. Importantly, the Knicks fans even broke into ‘MVP’ chants for Jalen Brunson at the Wells Fargo Center.

Speaking of the incident, Embiid wasn’t very pleased. He said, “I’ve never seen it, and I’ve been here for 10 years…it kind of pisses me off, especially because Philly is considered a sports town. They’ve always shown up, and I don’t think that should happen. Yeah. It’s not OK.”

Next up, they move to their home arena once again for the Game 6 clash. While there isn’t any update on Embiid’s frustration with the crowd, Tyrese Maxey seemed to be more interested and still has hope left in his fans. He said, “We got to go home, and our fans are going to rally behind… We are going to rally behind them and go out there and be aggressive.”
