

The Denver Nuggets finally see off the LA Lakers at their home. LeBron James & Co. couldn’t penetrate beyond Game 5, as Jamal Murray pushed another dagger into the LA fans’ hearts. Following the loss, the only question that echoed across the NBA world was whether King James would continue with the LA side in the next season. The superstar almost gave away his response before ending the conference abruptly.
During the post-game press conference, a reporter asked James if Game 5 was the last appearance in the Lakers’ thread. The superstar immediately responded, “Uhhhh, I’m not going to answer that,” and ended the presser abruptly.
LeBron James when asked if he had any consideration that tonight would be his last game with the Lakers: “Uhhhh, I’m not going to answer that.”

The Purple & Gold looked threatening throughout the game and it looked like anybody’s game until the final few seconds. Little did the Lakers know when the game was tied at 106 and Murray with final possession gave flashbacks of Game 2, sinking a game-winner with 3 seconds left on the clock. And, the Lakers had no chance of stopping the play as they lost all their time-out before well before the 3-minute mark.
LeBron James headed back to the locker room in disappointment after almost recording a triple-double (30-9-11) in the do-or-die game. The superstar had to deal with hurdles up his way ahead of the post-season. Firstly, the Bronny James trouble. Father James expressed his wish to play professional basketball alongside his son before he retired. While it was on the pipeline, James Jr. put up an underwhelming stat in his freshman year.
Bronny’s poor record reduced the Lakers’ chance of picking him in the 2024 Draft. It not only affected James’ dream but also put the Lakers in an uncertain spot. Will the Lakers rope in Bronny James?
LeBron James further pushed his uncertainty in the Lakers uniform with his press conference. However, a recent report from The Athletic dropped a positive update. According to Shams Charania, Jovan Buha, and Sam Amick, the Lakers would work toward fulfilling the superstar’s wish of playing alongside his son which potentially meant that the franchise might eye to pick him in the 2024 Draft.

In a 2022 interview with the Athletic, James said, “My last year will be played with my son.” Two years into that statement, the superstar faced a lot of sorts of shots fired at and it pushed him to even change the statement to, “either in the same uniform or a matchup against him.”
