Last night, a new chapter in the Bay Area emerged. Jimmy Butler lit up the Chicago sky with his dominant debut in the Warriors jersey. The 35-year-old recorded 25 points filled with plenty of flashy plays at the rim. Undoubtedly, it lifted the spirits of the Dub Nation as they waited for a superstar to support lonely Stephen Curry. Now that the Big Face Jimmy is already a Bay Area resident, he has already picked up a beef with his new teammate. Guess what? NBA legend Michael Jordan got caught in the crossfire.
The new teammate is none other than Draymond Green. Before you turn blue in anxiety, let me clear the air. It was a friendly beef. I know your heart must have skipped a beat reading that name. The former DPOY took responsibility for the teams’ break-up with Jordan Poole and Kevin Durant. And the team can’t afford to miss out on Butler, given the desperation that the team is under. So, let me just clarify, it was a light-hearted banter.
So, the ones who have watched the latest Netflix documentary Starting 5 know that Jimmy Butler loves playing Dominoes. Given his competitive nature, the 6x All-Star went on to call himself the“Greatest to ever hold a set of dominoes,” in the docuseries. He means it. So, after last night’s game, a reporter put forth DrayMagic’s latest claim that he was the ‘Michael Jordan of Dominoes’ and asked if he’d agree to it.

This is where the Chicago Bulls legend got caught in the crossfire. Butler put on his witty hat for this question and said, “Sure. Yeah Yeah, I’ll say that yeah, I’ll say that, but what I will say is, no offense to MJ, but which version of MJ is he? That’s the question.” We have seen prime MJ, rookie MJ, and 40-year-old MJ with the Wizards, and all were great in their own ways. Was Butler talking about the 60-year-old MJ? We never know but what we know is, he brushed a few MJ fans’ shoulders with this comment.

What does Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green’s future look like?
Last night, the Dubs fans must be on cloud nine. Jimmy’s transition into a Warriors star seemed almost invisible. The brotherhood has already skyrocketed. We saw Stephen Curry bringing out his crazy side for Jimmy’s tough reverse layup. We saw the young Warriors running to pick the vet up whenever he was on the floor.

Most importantly, the one particular equation that everyone feared, the Green-Butler combo, worked out amazingly well. Jimmy Buckets has had a history of troubled locker rooms wherever he went. And Green doesn’t need any introduction. So, everyone expected the duo to mess up pretty badly. But that wasn’t the case. The duo had the best connection out of the lot. The two strong-headed players were seen exchanging a lot on the floor.

Speaking of it, Butler said, “He’s telling me what he sees and I’m telling him what I see, um hell I don’t know too many of the plays right now anyway so . He’s definitely telling me where to go on the floor I’m grateful, I’m grateful um he’s shown me so much grace and understanding that I am new here even though I’ve been around the league for so long. He’s showing me the way and I’m very thankful for Draymond.” I think we have heard enough. Hopefully, the brotherhood stays forever.
